Actuating-mechanism.-Footcontrolled valve-operating means comprise a foot plate a held in a raised position by a chain g or like attached to a spring controlled mechanism of a valve and movable in or over guides connected to or forming a bracket or frame. Fig. 1 shows the footplate having projections b moving in slots c in the side members d of a bracket e which may be fixed to the floor or, as shown in Fig. 4, the plate may be formed with holes k through which project the legs h of the bracket, the plate moving between stops m on the legs.
