Abstract

An backbox for use in electrical systems may be fitted by drilling, boring or cutting a hole through or into a wall, partition or the like. The backbox is inserted into the hole and may be held therein via the use of screws and plug type fittings or by a friction fit with the hole. Protrusions on the outer part of the backbox act to grip the side of the hole that it is inserted therein. Resilient lug members 2 are provided to act as mounts for the associated switch member that attaches to the backbox. A series of knockouts 3 are provided to allow cables to pass through said backbox. A front face 1 acts as a location stop to position the back box.

Description

Rapid P1+ Back Box DescriDtion Rapid fix back box has been designed
from white plastic. It has three-cable entry area's, top middle and bottom. This is suitable for multiple outlets in domestic or commercial intallaf ions. The front of the box is square which fits with most conventional light switches but the beauty of this product is that the back is round meaning an electrician can fit it by using a 76mm drill bit to drill the hole and sliding it straight into place.
The product has sliding ratchet tugs, which are fitted with brass screw inserts for positive fixing of switches. No extra packing pieces are required as the large lugs ensure secure locking in the final position. This product has been designed to eliminate the problems of the commonly used square dry lining box. Rapid fix back box can be fitted quickly and more efficiently because it is unique in shape. Rapid fix back box is used in plasterboard or dry lining walls and because of the unique shape electricians will be able to fit it with ease. This eliminates problems such as switches not being straight or cut to the wrong size and having to be filled once the electricians have finished wiring the properties. The box comes as a complete unit and has the same amount of space for wiring as conventional dry lining boxes.
