Abstract
An electronic pavement advertising device comprises a flat panel display screen 2, such as a plasma or LCD screen, which is mounted or fixed securely into a paving slab or footpath surface 3. The display screen 2 may be surrounded by a night light sensor 1, which detects the presence of a person's foot on a sensor and temporarily illuminates the display screen 2. The advertising device is preferably covered by a transparent anti-vandal, anti-scratch, weather resistant screen made from plastic or silicon. Power may be supplied to the device via a solar panel 5. Cables, a power supply and a micro-controller may be installed in the pavement 3 beneath the display screen 2. A remote central control centre may control the information displayed on the display screen 2 and the illumination time of the night light.
Description
Pavement Advertising (Electronic)
Specification
This invention relates to a new form (medium) for displaying street advertising. le (Pavement Advertising) It will be a new way of using technologically advanced materials to display street advertisements.
There are many ways in which advertisements in and around Towns ad Cities the World over, are displayed.
Some examples are billboards, mobile signs, taxis, buses, bins, walls, etc.etc But one thing I have noticed is there is no "Pavement Advertising" It has occurred to me that this may be the most effective way of getting poster ad campaigns or digital media signage displayed to the masses in a simple, new, and unavoidable way I have found that when walking down a street or pedestrian sidewalk in a Suburb, Town, or City, a person will always look down at the ground every other moment, to see where he or she is stepping So it is obvious that sidewalks/footpaths are a prime position for displaying advertisements to the public masses
Description
According to this present invention there is provided a new forrri of pavement advertising This comprises of a most technologically advanced new form of (Plasma or LCD) style screen mounted or fixed securely into the required size of a pavement slab, block or surface Each screen will be protected by the best in an anti vandal, anti-scratch, and anti environmental damaging material. This most likely will be of a hard plastic component. Around the screen itself will be a most advanced form of sensory light. This will be used as a "light up" device for night time pedestrian safety and most of all to display the advertisement which is being advertised on the screen This light will be censored by a control rim around the perimeter the plasma screen Once it is stepped on by a pedestrian it will be activated and it will stay on for a few seconds only There will be a solar power panel also located on the surface of the pavement advertisement area. This will act as the night light's form of energy Thus powering the advertisement with enough power to flash the screen on and off as many times during non daylight hours Underneath the pavement surface will be a general electricity box/main, with microchip computer software etc, controlling advertisement change/input and signalling back to this new company's main media centre (control room) Next to it will be the solar power battery cell with all it's technical installation features, as well as the main cabling wires and inputs/switches Each individual panel will be all connected electronically to a main company control centre. Media control room personnel will be in control centre of the light functions and changing ad displays.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which.
Figure 1 shows a technical drawing of a side on and top view of this new electronic pavement advertisement screen Referring to the drawing, the electronic screen comprises a night light sensor activation strip 1 This borders around the plasma (LCD) screen 2 These are both securely fitted into the sidewalk (footpath) individual slab 3 and a protective surface is layered over the top of both the screen and sensor border which will be most likely made from a tough see through plastic or silicon 4 To the edge of the sensor border, there is a solar power panel 9 for the energy source to light up the advertisement screen at night once it is stepped on underneath the pavement is the earth (underground). 8 And a side view of the technicality of the display screen and its power source.
There it shows an electricity box (mains) and a microchip computer styled media data control 7 To the side of that runs the underground cables/wires 6 That is connected to that unit Finally the drawing shows a solar powered cell box 5 that is in correlation with the solar panel on the above screen surface.
Claims (4)
- Claims 1 A new form of electronic pavement advertising comprising of aPlasma (LCD) style screen mounted or fixed securely into the required size of a pavement slab, block or surface
- 2 A new form of electronic pavement advertising as claimed in Claim 1 also comprising of an anti-vandal,anti-scratch,and anti environmental damage protection screen Made from hard plastic or silicon see through material(s)
- 3 A new form of electronic pavement advertisement as claimed in claim 1 or 2,will be a sensory light panel bordering the plasma screen. This will be used as a light up device for night time pedestrian safety and most of all to display the advertisement which is being advertised on the screen -This light perimeter once it is stepped on will be activated and it will stay on for a few seconds or more The advertisement lights may also be time controlled by the main media control room.
- 4 A new form of electronic pavement advertisement as claimed in claim 2 or 3, also will feature a solar power panel located on the surface of the screen area This will act as the energy source to charge up the light at night time, then once stepped on in darkness the screen will flash on and off when required, as many times during the night period A new form of electronic pavement advertising as claimed in claim 4 will also feature underneath the pavement surface, a general electricity box/main unit with micro-chip computer software which will control the screen data/picture for multiple advertisement displays. This information displayed on each screen/ad pavement block will all be controlled by the main company switchboard/control room 6 A new form of electronic pavement advertising as claimed in any preceding claim will also feature underneath the pavement surface, the solar power battery cell with relevant features along with the main electricity box/unit and all relevant cable/wires and inputs/switches
