Abstract
A tool for locating and holding an isolator valve during fitting comprises a body with one end provided with a means to locate onto the isolator valve. The tool may have a partial circular section of a radius similar to that of the valve to be connected and a hole of similar diameter to the casing around the isolating screw to allow torque to be applied. The hole may be drilled at an angle to allow clearance around the main body when in use so that it can be held by hand.
Description
Title of invention
Isolator Spanner
Field of the invention
This invention provides a method of holding and locating isolator valves in position so that the valve is facing the desired direction and does not rotate whilst being tightened during fitting.
Background of the invention
Currently, when installing an isolator valve into plumbing systems the valve is held by a pair of pliers or similar to ensure that it is facing the right direction as it is tightened. This method can leave marks and damage the valve, also, if the valve is to be installed in a restricted space (such as behind a pedestal of a sink in a bathroom), then there is not always enough room to hold the valve in the desired position.
Object of the invention The object of this invention is to produce a device that will enable the location and tightening of isolator valves onto pipes without damaging the valve. The device will also allow easier location and tightening of the valves in restricted places where using other known products is not suitable
Summary of the invention
A tool for connecting isolator valves consisting of: I) abody(l) ii) a partial circular section (2) of a radius similar to that of the valve to be connected and iii) A hole (3) of similar diameter to the casing around the isolating screw.
Advantages of the invention The advantage of this invention is to produce a device that will enable the location and tightening of isolator valves onto pipes without damaging the valve. The device will also allow easier location and tightening of the valves in restricted places where using other known products is not suitable Preferred optional features The product should be made from alloy steel

Detailed description of the drawings
A tool for connecting isolator valves consisting of a body (1) with one end provided with a means to locate onto an isolator valve, the method of locating the tool is by way of a partial circular section (2) of a radius similar to that of the valve to be connected and a hole (3) of similar diameter to the casing around the isolating screw. A tool as claimed in claim I where the hole is drilled at an angle to allow clearance around the main body when in use so that it can be held by hand
