Abstract

A form of dominoes which replaces the numbers found on dominoes with text, colours and symbols, the tile having four separate triangle areas to match an association with rather than the two areas normally found on a traditional dominoes tile. The dominoes of the invention are tiles which are oblong in shape and the set uses 72 Tiles - 64 General Category Tiles and 8 Starter Tiles. The intention is for each player to use up all their tiles first in order to win. The two end triangles of a tile always contain either text or symbol associations while the two side triangles require a blank colour match. The Starter Tiles allow players to start up to eight individual spreads, the use of which increases the speed with which a player is able to win by reducing the chances that a player is forced to miss a turn.

Description

Game: Angle Match
Description
The primary purpose of Angle Match is to provide educational entertainment to as wide an age group as possible (8 years to Adult).
Keeping Angle Match simple yet entertaining through its ability to use information as an intricate apparatus in the game play mechanics was instrumental in the final game design.
In addition the application of familiar gaming techniques provides the ability for Angle Match to be quickly understood by anyone who first encounters it. This ensures that Angle Match can always be included for consideration when people are thinking about an easy game that anyone can quickly learn.
Angle Match can be played as a fast one time winner game or a best of three. Angle Match does not take long to play and because of this offers players a chance to compete with each other by seeing who can win out of a set number of games e.g. best of three.
Angle Match is a contemporary form of dominoes (in keeping with dominoes they are oblong in shape) in that it uses 72 Tiles -64 General Category Tiles and 8 Starter Tiles. As with dominoes the intention is for each player to use up all their tiles first in order to win. However these comparisons with dominoes are the only ones that players might find familiar.
Angle Match replaces the numbers found on dominoes with text, colours and symbols but goes a step further by introducing a tile with four separate angled areas to match an association with rather than the two normally found on a dominoes tile. Each Angle Match tile possesses four triangles on which different information is displayed i.e. text, symbol and or colours. After a player lays down their tile a rival must attempt a match to one of the four angles of the tile on the table. The two ends of a tile always contain either text or symbol associations while the two side angles require a colour match.
Angle Match also contains eight individual Starter Tiles which allows for players to start up to eight individual spreads. Doing so increases the speed with which a player is able to win by reducing the chances that a player is forced to miss a turn.
Levels of Information Categories The intention is to offer Angle Match at different levels of play as well as equipping it with specific subjects for personal preference. For example under the Sports category a specific sport could be used such as football or motor racing.
Angle Match Game Play Levels: * Specialist (for those with extremely good knowledge relating to a spec-i/c subject) * 2.
* Advanced (for those with good genera! knowledge relating to a spe ylc subject) * Standard Set Topic -(for beginners) * Standard General -(for beginners) Angle Match Specific Subjects: It is possible for Information categories to be adapted to any subject. The example of Angle Match provided for patenting was presented with a varied assortment of subjects that included six specific categories: Capital Cities, Cats & Dog Breeds, Career & Lifestyle, Norse & Roman Gods and Phobias.
Angle Match Associations List Each Angle Match game is supplied with a list of correct associations that can either be used freely by all players during the game or in the case of advanced and specialist players only after a player chooses an association that is subsequently challenged.
Angle Match Colour Codes: Six colours codes are used in Angle Match but only the side colours of each tile can be placed with an identical colour without requiring an appropriate text or symbol association.
Text and Symbol associations are also colour coded as a mechanism to reflect the specific category of association. However their placement is limited by a correct association being appropriate.
Game Rules I. Angle Match is designed to be played by between two and up to a maximum of eight players.
2. All the tiles must be placed face down on a table before each player in turn collects eight tiles. The tiles that remain unused are referred to as the pile'. These are used to pick-up from when a player is unable to lay a tile down on a spread or by a player who incorrectly suggests a tile association.
3. A Starter Tile is used to begin a game.
4. A Starter Tile priority exists should more than one player find a Starter Tile in their possession at the beginning of a game. A sequence of colour priority relevant to each Starter tiles is provided below: * Red (1st) Gold (2nd) Green (3m) Blue(4t) Brown (5th) 5. If no Starter Tile is present at the outset of the game all players must take another tile from the pile until a Starter tile is collected.
6. Starter Tiles may have any identical blank coloured angles including those with text or symbols placed against them.
7. After a game has begun players may place a Starter tile down without adhering to the sequence described above in order to begin a new spread whenever it is their turn.
8. The blank coloured sides of tiles can only have identical blank coloured angles matching them.
9. To win a player must use up all the tiles in their possession. +
