Abstract

The invention relates to sanitary protection, and particularly to an antibacterial toilet seat liner preventing bodily contact with the toilet seat during use to avoid transmission of pathogens to the user. The seat liner 5 comprises upper (2 figure 2) and lower (1 figure 2) impermeable layers of polythene. The liner is impregnated with an antibacterial solution (3 figure 2) between the two layers of polythene. The liner is sized so that when fitted to a toilet seat the inner 3 and outer 2 sides overlap the sides of the toilet seat 4 so that a user will not contact the seat.

ANTIBACTERIAL TOILET SEAT LINER
This invention relates to a sanitary toilet seat liner.
When a person using a toilet under normal conditions has to sit on a toilet seat. This scenario provides a conducive pathological transmission of bacteria, viruses and other germs from the toilet seat to the skin of the user. It is therefore in the interest of this invention to eliminate contact between the users skin and the toilet seat.
Public restrooms toilets are usually unsanitary and are potentially high risk unhealthy. The fear of disease and other infections by direct contact with the seat cover has resulted in the scope and spirit of this invention.
This has been particularly true as regards to public toilets and many methods have been tried and administered to curb disease transmission such as chemical disinfectants. This problem has even escalated to high levels in this age of new disease outbreaks such as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (A.I.D.S) and people do not have peace of mind when using toilets.
In solving this problem many products have been developed and have had their shortcomings. The Antibacterial toilet seat liner has been designed for both private and public rest rooms. If manufactured it could be used in commercial and consumer bathrooms.
The Antibacterial Toilet Liner would have advantages in its disposable design, effectiveness, novelty, convenience, ease of use, portability, lightweight, compact size, practicality and cost savings as the sanitary conditions it would provide. The bottom of this newly designed toilet seat liner would be impregnated with an antibacterial agent to kill germs and bacteria on a toilet seat. In addition the covering would provide a protective barrier between the user and the seat. The antibacterial agent would not come into contact with the users skin in any way.The Antibacterial toilet seat Liner would serve as a time saving alternative to using separate toilet seat covers and wipes.
It would ensure that urine, germs and moisture that collect on the toilet seat would not touch the user's skin. A child could sit on the toilet with the use of this covering, and parents and grandparents could rest knowing that the child's skin would not touch the surface of the toilet. This cover would efficiently protect the user from germs, urine, bacteria, and possible infections. The Antibacterial Toilet Seat liner would be ideal for individuals who frequently travel and are forced to use public restrooms or facilities on buses, planes and trains. Users would now have confidence when using a public restroom.
This covering would eliminate the hassle of squatting over a toilet seat, which can be extremely uncomfortable. It would also serve as an efficient alternative to conventional methods of covering the seat such as using toilet paper or other covers that may not provide complete coverage.
This product would be hygienic, convenient, timesaving, safe, comfortable to use, sanitary, practical, hassle free, user friendly, easy to use, disposable, germ free, foldable, and affordable priced.
In addition its lightweight and compact design could be easily stored and transported while travelling. The Antibacterial toilet seat Liner could be utilized in both commercial and consumer versions.
The potential exists for varying the production of Antibacterial Toilet Seat Liner in ways that could make it more appealing to a wider range of end users. This includes producing it in an assortment of sizes, designs, styles, shapes and colours but its functional art remains the same.
The invention will now be described with the aid of the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1, the drawing representation of Antibacterial toilet seat liner, Antibacterial Toilet Seat Liner can be produced from sanitary paper stock with a polyethylene lining between the top and bottom layers. The antibacterial agent would represent a standard, readily available item.
The polyethylene lining gives an advantage that the disposable Antibacterial Toilet Seat Liner can be recycled and hence promotes ecological sustainability. This product is very simple, light and easy to use, hence it can be packaged in different denominations and a package often (10) can be carried when travelling and one or two Antibacterial Toilet Liner can be carried in a pocket or a ladies handbag. It can come in different attractive colours.
Figure 2, represents the cross section of Antibacterial Toilet Liner. Unit 1 represents the underlaying of polythene coating that rests on the toilet seat. This material provides practical surety that liquids cannot migrate from the toilet seat to the skin of the user. Unit 3 shows the antibacterial solution that is impregnated into the Antibacterial Toilet Liner. This solution will not get in contact with the skin of the user and its major benefit is to ensure that no pathogen can migrate from the toilet seat to the skin of the user.
Unit 2, an impervious polyethylene upper layer coating prevents fluid from the toilet seat and the antibacterial solution from getting into contact with the user.
Figure 3, This pictorial representation is meant to illustrate how the Antibacterial Toilet Seat can be placed in position on a toilet seat ready for use.
Unit I represents a toilet seat Unit 5 represents an Antibacterial Toilet Seat Liner placed in a position on the toilet seat.
Unit 2 represents an overlapping outerside of the Antibacterial Toilet Liner that ensures that a user is fully guaranteed that no contact of the toilet seat and the user can be possible.
Unit 3 also serves the same purpose as described in unit 2.This function facilitates an assurance that even children are safe to use this product.
Children normally hold the sides of a toilet seat to balance them and this ensures that even their hands cannot be directly in contact with the toilet seat.
Unit 4, the space represented by the shaded area or the two dotted circles is the position of the actual toilet seat.
L
An Antibacterial toilet seat liner has a polythene undercoating layer and when placed properly and well positioned on a toilet seat does not need other type of adhesive to keep it in position. Polythene when in contact with other plastic material like a toilet seat creates an adhesion effect.
This effect is even enhanced by the pressure of the human body seated on it.
An Antibacterial toilet seat Liner can come in different sizes and shapes to suits its market.
