Abstract
A roller tray formed from impregnated, through various physical-chemical processes, cellulose comprises a flat surface of generally rectangular shape with an integral paint reservoir at front of the tray. In use, the roller is dipped into paint in the reservoir and rolled back and forth across the flat surface to squeeze off excess paint and to distribute the paint evenly across the roller surface. The roller is then ready to be rolled across a substrate to be painted so as to apply the paint thereto. Generally the flat surface of the tray is inclined slightly towards the reservoir so that paint squeezed from the roller flows back into the reservoir for future use. The Tray is for single use, recycled on disposable.
Description
PAINT ROLLER TRAY FOR SINGLE USE MADE OF IMPREGNATED
CELLULOSE
The invention relates to a paint roller tray made of impregnatej cellulose for use with paint rollers (including mini-rollers).
The use of roller tray made of plastics or metal is well known in both the DIY and commercial markets. A disadvantage with the tray is that it requires periodic cleaning to avoid a build up of solidified paint which can only be removed by softening with a suitable solvent and then scraping out or by burning out with a naked flame Apart from being time-consuming the toxic nature of certain paints makes this an undesirable practice. Scraping or burning will also damage the inner surface of the tray thus exacerbating the problem when further cleaning is required. However if the same product to be made of impregnated cellulose for single use it will become + Cheaper to produce; + Lighter to cany on; + Easier and quicker disposable and *. Environmental friendly -it can be recycled on disposal.
The impregnation of cellulose isto be achieved by various well-established physical-chemical processes for its treatment to that state and condition. Such a treatment is necessary to make it solidified paints-proof A conventional roller tray comprises a flat surface of generally rectangular shape with an integral paint reservoir at front of the tray. In use, the roller is dipped into paint in the reservoir and rolled back and forth across the flat surface to squeeze off excess paint and to distribute the paint evenly across the roller surface. The roller is then ready to be rolled across a substrate to be painted so as to apply the paint thereto Gent rally the flat sur1ce of the tray is inclined slightly towards the reservoir so that paint squeezed from the roller flows back into the reservoir for future use.
An object of this invention is to provide a single use paint roller tray made of impregnated through various physical-chemical processes cellulose that can be recycled on disposal.
