Abstract

A gun slip stand is integrated into a purpose built or adapted gun slip. It is integrated by means of a mount plate 1 and a plate designed into a bottom leg rest 2. The main mechanism is mounted onto a plate 3 and onto spine bars 4, which provide the stability to the stand and gun slip. When placed upright upon the ground the central front leg 5 of the stand is pushed upwards by the downward force generated by the weight of itself. This in turn pushes a hub drive pointer 6 into a knuckle 7. The oscillating sprung loaded knuckle forces open the tripod action of the stand, opening up the rear support legs 8 allowing the gun slip stand to stand up. To push back the stand to the upright position it folds back into the closed position In reverse, where the legs are held in place and it can be lifted by a shoulder strap.

Description

* 2446818 (hcifla*in Snrin Action Tripod Gun Slip Stand Having used
shotguns and gun slips within the game and clay sport for many years, I was frustrated with always coming home with a muddy or dirty gun slip which prompted me to design this stand. When thinking about the design another element which became evident was the safety value that could be achieved by such a stand. By this I mean that guns could be extracted from the gun slip safely as you can use both hands and break the gun easily whilst still within the gun slip, thereby not extracting a closed gun in line with good shooting practice. By having the gun slip standing off the ground rather than in a heap on the floor the risk of trip hazard is avoided. By having your gun supported by this stand when not in use on the field reduces the risk of unfortunate accidents of it being stepped on and damaged.
The stand is designed to be integrated into a purpose built or adapted gun slip and is portable. It is integrated by means of a gun slip mount plate (item 1) Fig 1/land a slotting plate designed into bottom leg rest (item 2) Fig 1/1. The main mechanism is mounted onto top plate (item 3)Fig 1/1 which in turn is mounted onto two spine bars (item 4) Fig 1/1, which provide the stability to the stand and the gun slip. Its key feature is when the gun slip is placed upright upon the ground the central moving front leg (item 5) Fig 1/1 of the stand is pushed upwards by the downward force generated by the weight of itself and the gun slip. This in turn pushes hub drive pointer (item 6) Fig 1/1 into the knuckle (item 7) Fig 1/1. The oscillating sprung loaded knuckle forces open the tripod action of the stand opening up the rear support legs (item 8) Fig I/I allowing the gun slip stand to support itself.
Once the gun has been replaced within the gun slip you simply push back to the upright position and lift the gun slip by its shoulder strap. The whole stand folds back into closed position by way of the oscillating spring loaded knuckle (item 7) Fig 1/I and the legs are held in place by the bottom leg rest (item 2) Fig 1/1, you can then place the shoulder strap over your shoulder to carry.
