Abstract
An extension for a seat belt buckle comprises a length of flexible or rigid material 1 that is adapted at one end 2 to fit into the existing seatbelt buckle 3 and at the other end 4 it is adapted to anchor an additional seatbelt buckle 5. The existing seatbelt tongue 6 connects to the additional seatbelt buckle 5.
Description
Description
Buckle Booster This invention relates to a solution to boost the height of a seal belt buckle from its original position to enable easy access to the seat belt buckle with the seat belt tongue.
Whilst a single booster seat can be moved to allow access to the existing seat belt buckle location with the seal belt tongue, it becomes increasingly difficult to locate the existing seat belt buckles with the seat belt tongues when two booster seats ale used inline next to each other and practically impossible to locate the original seat belt buckle locations with the seat belt tongues when three booster seats are used rn-line without moving two booster seats out of position.
This awkward and timely procedure of moving booster seats out of position to gain access to the original seat belt buckles is only burdened by the fact the booster seat must be moved back into position after a child is seated within the booster seat and depending on the weight of the child and the strength of the adult this fact can render the procedure impossible.
To overcome the difficulty of locating an original seat belt buckle whilst a booster seat is in position, the prescnt invention provides extension of the sea ibelt buckle location.
This invention will now be described by way of illustration in which: Figure 1 shows the Buckle-Booster in pan form Figure 2 shows one booster seat in position and clear access to the original buckle location.
Figure 3 shows two booster seats in position but with access to the original buckle locations concealed.
Figure 4 shows two Buckle-Boosters fitted.
Figure 5 shows two Buckle-Boosters fitted, with clear access to the two new buckle locations.
Figure 6 shows three booster seals in position but with access to the original buckle locations conceaJed.
Figure 7 shows three Buckle-Boosters fitted, with clear access to the three new buckle locations.
In fIgure 2, a single booster seat 1 is in position on a rear 3-seater bench seat of a vehicle. Access to the appropriate original seat belt buckle location 2 is accessible.
In figure 3, two booster seats I are in position next to each other on a rear 3-seater bench seat of a vehicle.
Access to the appropriate original seat belt buckles 2 is only possible by moving a booster seat 1 out of position.
In figure 4, a single booster seat I is in position on a rear 3-seater bench seat of a vehicle with two Buckle-Boosters 3 fitted into the original seat belt buckles 2. This clearly illustrates the addition boost in height the buckle position has gained.
In fIgure 5, two booster seats I are in position next to each other on a rear 3-seater bench seat of a vehicle.
Access to the appropriate boosted seat belt buckles 3 is now possible without having to moving a booster seat I out of position.
In figure 6, three booster seats 1 are in position next to each other on a rear 3-seater bench seat of a vehicle. Access to the appropriate original seat belt buckles 2 is only possible by moving a two booster seats I out of position.
In figure 7, three booster seats I are in position next to each other on a rear 3-seater bench seat of a vehicle.
Access to the appropriate boosted seat belt buckles 3 is now possible without having to move two booster seats out of position.
