Abstract

A vehicle security shutter device for immobilising a vehicle prevents the vehicle being moved without the consent of the owner or keeper. The shutter retracts into the vehicle body when not in use and moves down to cover all the pedals to prevent their use. The device can be fitted to the vehicle upon production, it can also be modified to fit any vehicle after production. A lock can enable the device to be opened manually as a failsafe.

DESCRIPTION
This is a security device which is fitted as standard on all vehicles. It will cover all the pedals. i.e accelerator, brake & clutch (if applicable) in a vehicle to prevent theft on all new vehicles and can also be fitted to any older vehicle.
How it works When the vehicle is locked a shutter comes down to cover all of the pedals, so that if a petty car thief got inside then there would be no way they could use the pedals if they managed to start the car.
In the event that there was no power the manual bypass, which is a key system as part of the design and only a unique key could overide.
This security shutter will not malfunction.
The shutter could be either straight or curved to ensure all the pedals were covered in any vehicle and the strength of the material would be unbreakable.
The manufacturer should use steel or stronger material.
The design can have: -Any logo -Any colour -Illuminous if required

Claims (14)

  1. Claims 1. A Vehicle security shutter device either straight or curved
    depending on the vehicle fitted to so that the pedals are covered.
  2. 2. A vehicle security shutter device with a secure lock, any shape to enable the device to be opened manually as a fail safe, which is part of the design and a unique key specific to the vehicle will be able to open it or a master-key, both keys would have codes which the owner/keeper keeps so that they can be easily replaced in the event of any loss.
  3. 3. In the event of a power failure the lock can be used with no obstructions.
  4. 4. The security shutter will be fitted to prevent any malfunction.
  5. 5. The security shutter can be made of the strongest material available and depending on the manufacturers budget can be of lesser strength.
  6. 6. The length would be so that it was the same length as to cover the pedals, to prevent them being used.
  7. 7. The height would be so that it was the same height as to cover the pedals to prevent them being used.
  8. 8. The depth would be very slim to slightly thick, depending on material used by the manufacturer.
  9. 9. The Vehicle security shutter device can be fitted on production of the vehicle and be fitted so that it could shut or retract into the vehicle body.
  10. 10. The vehicle secunty device can be modified to be fitted to a vehicle after production, i.e. the vehicles currently in use.
  11. 11. The security device can be fitted so that the ignition system would open when the vehicle started or can be set as an immobiliser with its own digital device to be able to open before starting the vehicle.
  12. 12. The Vehicle shutter can have a failsafe and can be connected to the handbrake, to prevent the vehicle being started in gear or out of gear and to move.
