Abstract

A fishing pole attachment comprising a hollow tube which is attached by sleeving onto the outside of the tapered tip of a hollow fishing pole. The attachment will release or hold a line by engaging a fixed ball (f4 in figure 3) into a cavity f2. In use the angler may retain the line within the pole by a half turn of the rod when necessary, engaging the ball with the cavity to fix the line, thus preventing a hooked fish from swimming into snags. Another half turn of the rod will disengage the ball releasing the line allowing any hooked fish to swim in open water. When the hook is not engaged; the elastic tension of the pole line causes the line to be retracted thus engaging the ball with the cavity.

Description

TITLE: LINELOK
DESCRIPTION:
Lmelok innovation is a means of securing or releasing a line from within a tube..
Number of component parts: 2 (two) Fig 1: Consists of an open ended tube.
Fig 2: Lateral profile view -illustrating a half spherical Cavity in the outer wall of the tube (fi) positioned Near to end of tube. Y neck tapered slot from end Of tube to cavity.
Fig 2: End of view of the tube cavity.
To retain tube strength the cavity not to be greater Then 290/70 right degree of the arc of the tube Outer skin.
Fig 3: f4/5. Comprising of a fixed solid ball on a flexible line. ..
Fig 4: fl/2/3. Assembled illustration. p
Fig 6: With tube and ball in the upward Position. The ball is trapped in the Cavity therefore unable to release the Line.
Fig 7: With tube and ball in the downward Position the ball is released from the Cavity.

Claims (8)

  1. PATEtbflJJCAtION NUMBER 07011244)
    I. A unit for securing or releasing a fishing line from inside an existing tapered top sections of a hollow fishing pole by means of trapping a ball that is centrally attached to a fishing line into a socket. (Profile f'S, (4)
  2. 2. The unit comprises of a hollow tube varying in length from five to eight centimetres. A hollow tube with a variation of five to eight millimetres in diameter according to the width of the pole's tapered tip to which it is connected.
  3. 3. A unit can be permanently attached by sleeving onto the outside of the tapered tip of an existing hollow fishing pole. ((.6)
  4. 4. A unit with a wall thickness 611000 of an inch which can be made of high strength plastic or aluminium.
  5. 5. The unit comprises of a spherical cavity that is centred approximately 1 centimetre from the end of the tube. ((.2)
  6. 6. The unit has a Y shaped key cut away from the end of the Linelok r. tube which intercedes a spherical cavity by one to two centimetres in width according to the size of the unit required, showing the appearance ofa key bole. Is Is
    * qI I
  7. 7. Items of known art -attachments.
4 Hollow fishing pole, line, elastic, ball (bead) I. * . *Is One end of the elastic is secured within the base of the pole's top section. A short length of fishing line of approximately 30 centimetres with ball attached centrally is connected to the elastic, which has been tensioned within the pole's section. The ball is approximately 5OOOb of an inch larger than the spherical cavity.
(16). This will prevent the ball entering the pole section. 2/2
  8. 8. The unit's tensioned elastic will retract the ball and line into the cavity when the line is slackened. Line is shown as ---2/2.
(Fig.5). Elastic is shown as xxx 2/2. (fig. 10).
9 The ball is secured within the spherical cavity when the fishing pole is held with the ball in an upward position, tapping the ball so it will not release without breaking the line. (f 6) The ball is released when it is facing the downward position. The bail, line and elastic will stretch through the Linelok from within the pole.
    (1 4,5,10).
The benefits to the angler of a fixed line is to set the hook firmly when required on the strike. It will also prevent a large fish running into vegetation like lilies and underwater snags by means of not yielding or releasing line, therefore steering the fish clear of the snags.
Large fish can be played out in open water when tackle is clear of obsiructions, when the ball is in the downward position. I. ft S -.
