Abstract

A storage device comprises an open topped bin (1) having a rim (4) extending around its upper edge. The rim (4) is designed to fit in a frame member (5) which sits in an aperture formed in the upper surface of a desk in which the storage device is to be used. A tray (7) sits on the rim 4 and is formed with compartments to accommodate pens, pencils and other stationary and a peripheral cutout (9) to form a handle for the user and an outlet for cables. A lid (10), similarly dimensioned to the tray (7) and also having a peripheral cutout to match the cutout (9) in the tray (7) is connected by a hinge (14) to the frame (5). The bin (1) incorporates a lock (12) having a locking member enabling the bin (1) to be locked in the desk and the lid (10) to be locked to the bin (1) when removed from the desk. The arrangement facilitates hot desking allowing the same desk to be used by a number of different people storing their own personal accessories in their own personal storage device.
