Abstract

In accordance with the present invention, an easily openable container (10) includes an elastic member (20) that is connected to the container (10) when the closure (14) is in an open condition. Thus, the elastic member (20) is at rest when the cover closure (14) is open and spring-biases the closure to an open condition. When the closure (14) is closed against the spring-biasing of the elastic material (20), the elastic member (20) is stretched and held stretched when the closure (18) in the front of the closure (14) is engaged, such as by a snap closure or any other releasable connection. When- the locking mechanism (18) is released, the closure (14) pops open by contraction of the elastic member (20).
