Abstract
A cylindrical tee can be permanently fixed into position on top of an underground tank, and has a removable top which can hold a tap to cut of one of the openings, or other appliances, for example to allow testing of underground pipework.

Description
Safe-Tee-Valve The invention relates to a pipe fitting tee which in some industries can be found below ground.
Some such tees are 1-2 meters below ground in chambers access is restricted & hazardous due to gasses in a confined space.
The object of this invention is to be able to remove the top off the tees & illuminate entry of the chamber.
This invention provides a tee with interchangeable tops along with tools.
The tee would preferably be made of metals but could also be made from plastics, or a combination from both materials.
The top page shows the valve together & fitted with a test plunger page 4 Page 1 shows the top part of the cap which has the slots fig D for removal & installation of the cap complete with the test plunger page 4.
Page 2 shows the base of the cap which is bolt to the above using the threaded bolt fig B throw the location holes fig C page 1 & being tightened into the threaded hole fig F Page 2 these are sealed via the 0 ring fig H page2 the base of the cap also contains the threaded shaft fig G for the test rod page 4.
Page 3 shows the tee section showing the adjustable seating ring fig J & the outer thread fig I leaving a smooth internal.

Page 4 shows a break down of the test plunger & test rod, the test plunger fits over the end of the test rod using the 0 ring seals fig L & is held in position by the washer fig Q and lock nut fig P. Complete assembly is then inserted into the cap page 2 so that the outer thread fig M page 4 is located into threaded shaft fig G page 2.(This enables adjustment up & down) so that the complete assembly can be locked down so that the seal fig S page 4 Sits on the seating ring fig J page 3.
Page 5 shows the open cage which fits over the rod the same manner as above.The Cage is used for every running use and holds down an over fill device (not shown).
Page 6 shows the tools need for the installation & removal of the above, these tools would also be fully adjustable for different depth chambers.
The safe-tee-valve on the top page drawing shows the valve complete fitted with a test cap.
The test rod page 4. It is adjusted down by the hexagon adjustment point fig K page 4.Using the socket on the end of the adjustable tool page 6.this rotates the thread fig M page 4up or down. With the test rod wound down so that the seal fig S page sits tight on the seating ring fig J page 3 will stop flow going through the base of the tee.
The 0 rings on the test rod fig L page 4 form a seal between the rod & test plunger, on the top they form a seal between the rod & the sleeve fig A page 1 on the top hat This only allows flow through the side of the tee.
By exchanging the test rod page 4 for the cage page 5 in the same manner enable flow through the side & base of the tee also locking down the internal over fill device (Not shown).
All the above works can be carried out from above ground using the tools page 6 With out having to enter a hazardous confined space.

1 A cylindrical tee with interchangeable tops which has a duel purpose for holding other appliances or to isolate openings of the tee Claim 1) 2 The slots on top off fig ( D) page 1 for removal & installation of the lop hat Claim 2) Internal thread with seal fig ( Fl) page2 to seal to base of tee page3 4 Outer sleeve with smooth internal to accommodate 0 rings & how's fig (A page! & R page 4) Claim3)lwoparttop,Toppartl page 1 &loppart2page2with Oringseal(fig H) page Claim 4) Threaded top ( fig G) page 2 for adjustment of lest & Cage rod pages 4 & Claim 5) Fixed seating ring ( fig J) page 3 for seating seal ( fig Fl) page 2 stop point when fixing the lee ( page 3) to riser pipe-work, Also when applying the adjustable cage ( page 5) & the test rod (page 6).
Claim 6) Outer thread ( fig I) page 3 with two inner threads on same lee Adjustable seating ring ( fig J) page 3 Claim 7) Threaded bar with double 0 ring seals top & bottom with hexagon top for Adjustment of test plunger page 4 & Cage page 5 Claim 8) Adjustable Open cage page 5 removes complete with removal of Top Claim 9) Adjustable Test plunger page 4 with smooth sleeve (fig R) Claim 10) Two part Top 2 Lifting tool for removal of overfill prevention valves (NOT SHOWN) Claim 11) Two part top with 0 ring seal Claim 12) Any tee that has a multi use purpose.
Claim 13) Any tee substantially as herein described above and illustrated in accompanying grawings.
