Abstract
The invention entails a wet weather cover for an electric mitre saw, the cover protecting the electric mitre saw such that it can be used in the rain. The cover is a one piece cover, and can be attached and detached from the mitre saw. It serves primarily to enclose the motor 1, and also blankets the main body 5 up to the handle 4. The rain cover is preferably manufactured from durable breathable brightly coloured nylon and secured to the mitre saw by way of Velcro (RTM) straps 2, 5. The cover is ideally shaped such that the part of the object being cut by the blade 6 is not obscured. The cover preferably comprises a tail 7 which allows any sliding action of the mitre saw to be utilized without snagging.

invention relates to a one piece waterproof cover for an electric sliding compound mitre saw.
The electric compound mitre saw is perhaps the most common and most frequently used power tool available to the working carpenter. This tool is of particular use when constructing roofs or when second fixing properties, the former obviously being performecj outdoors and whilst doing the latter the machine will often be set up outdoors to avoid dust contamination especially when cutting MDF.
As the tool is electric it is susceptible to damage from wet weather. Rain does not always make it impossible for a carpenter or team of carpenters to work outdoors indeed only the heaviest downpours would stop a work that has to meet a schedule.
Keeping electrical tools dry is however difficult.
This problem is over come with the use of a simple one piece wet weather cover.
The cover is shaped to enclose the motor and is secured beneath the motor 1 by way of Velcro 2. The cover blankets the main body 3 up to the handle 4 where a strip of webbing 5 wraps around the handle mechanism and is secured using Velcro. It takes a matter of seconds to secure the cover and seconds to remove it. The hard wearing material allows for the cover to be simply cast aside or thrown into a tool box or bag or into the back of a van or truck.
The wet weather cover is made from a breathable waterproof and brightly coloured nylon material. The bright colour makes it easy to find in even the dingiest of vehicles or tool boxes. The design allows the cover to be used when the saw is in use and the shape around the blade 6 allows the user to see clearly what ever may be being cut and any marks that need to be worked to. The tail 7 of the cover allows the sliding action of the saw to be fully utilised without snagging.
The wet weather cover will be available in two universal sizes to cover saw sizes from 2lOmm-255mm and 305mm respectively.
Claims (9)
1. A one-piece universal wet weather cover for electric compound mitre saws comprising an electric motor extending from a main body that cames the tool (i.e. the saw), adapted to fIt flexibly to the motorwith a distinct part to cover the main body while aUowing the tool to be used.
2. A cover as claimed in ctaim I, adapted for electric compound mitre saws of saw diameter 2lOmm-250mm.

3. A cover as claimed in claim I,adapted for electric compound mitre saws of saw diameter 305mm.
4. A cover as claimed in claim 1,2 or 3, that comprises Velcro (i.e. micro hook-and-loop fastening means) to secure It to the machine (i.e. the mitre saw).
5. A cover as claimed in claim 1,2, 3 or 4, that incorporates a long tail cover that allows for the full use of the main body when this provides slidng telescopic acon of said tool.
6. A cover as claimed in any one of claims ito 5, adapted to be removably attached to the mitre saw.
7. A one-piece universal wet weather cover substantially accordng to any example hereinbefore described.
8. A one-piece universal wet weather cover substantially acoordng to any example hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying óawings.
