Abstract

A roller cleaning brush to be used in conjunction with a drive roller for moving non-driven vehicles, in particular trailers, containing a propulsion unit. The roller cleaning brush is mounted near the roller so that the bristles of the brush come into contact with the roller and provide a cleaning function when the roller rotates, either clockwise or anticlockwise. The cleaning brush would remove leaves, stones and/or other debris stuck on the roller surface.

Description

ROLLER CLEANING BRUSH
Background
Caravan / Trailer Movers are well known in the caravan industry and comprise of a friction roller, placed against a tyre to manoeuvre the vehicle, held in place by a fabrication to support the roller and motor, which fixes onto the chassis of the caravan.
A problem with placing a roller against a tyre to create movement is that friction is required, so when the roller rotates the tyre rotates. The friction is usually created by the surface of the roller. If there are leaves, stones and/or other debris on the roller surface the friction surface of the roller will be reduced, making the roller slip on the tyre.
Essential Technical Features The present invention comprises of a brush placed by the roller so that the bristles of the brush touch the surface of the roller. As the brush is in a fixed position when the roller rotates the bristles of brush clean the surface of the roller.
The bristles of the brush can be made from wire, plastic or similar material that existing brushes are manufactured from i.e. sweeping brush, tooth brush, wire brush etc. The benefits of the Heated Friction Roller': * Removal of debris on the roller surface.
* Increase performance of the product.
Diagrams 1.
A Specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1: Shows the roller cleaning brush mounted so that the bristles of the brush touch the roller surface. The diagram shows the roller away from the tyre.
Figure 2: Shows the roller cleaning brush mounted so that the bristles of the brush touch the roller surface. The diagram shows the roller against the tyre.
Figure 3: Shows a close up image of the roller cleaning brush mounted so that the bristles of the brush touch the roller surface (Image from the side).
Figure 4: Shows a close up image of the roller cleaning brush mounted so that the bristles of the brush touch the roller surface (Image from the front).

Claims (2)

  1. Claims I. A roller cleaning brush' is fixed near the roller so that the
bristles of the brush touch the roller, as the roller the rotates the bristles of the brush clean any excess debris off the roller surface hence increasing the friction of the roller by removing the leaves, stones or excess debris, means additional material stuck to the surface of the roller which is not meant to be their and hinders the operation of the drive-aid mover i.e. caravan or trailers containing a propulsion unit when moving, bristles means wire, plastic or similar strands which protrude from a fixed point, i.e. bristles of a tooth brush, bristles of a sweeping brush.
  2. 2. A roller cleaning brush' system substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-5 of the accompanying drawings.
