244,310. Munn, D. S. March 21,1925. Artificial flowers are made of thin sheet rubber. The petals are brushed over with turpentine, benzine or other rubber solvent to give them a curl. Rubber solution is then applied to the surface in such a manner as to thicken the inner ends of the petals and to fix the curled surface.s in their appropriate positions. Colouring matter may be mixed with the solvent. Fine wires may reinforce the petals or leaves, and may be covered with a strip of rubber or a rib of solution. A moulded calyx may be used. In the heart of the flower a small sponge or pad of cotton wool is saturated with the appropriate perfume.
