Abstract
A fuse assembly has a housing (1), contained within the housing are a pair of blade like pins (2), also within said housing and bridging said pins is fuse element (3) and connected in parallel to said fuse are, in series, a high resistor (4) and a micro indicator (5), the micro indicator may be a neon lamp. Normally the current flows through the fuse and the resistor prevents the lamp from illuminating. In the event of an overload current all the current flows through the resistor and the lamp is lit. The pins (2) are held within the housing via a single point pressing with two press holes (13).
Description
* 2442510 Safety Fuse with Blown-Fuse Indicator
Background of the Invention
1. Field of the Invention
The invention is related to structural improvement in fuses. Especially, it means plug-in fuses with a blown-fuse indicator to indicate replacement timing and reduce repair time.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Fuses have been widely used in various kinds of applications in industries, housing and electric equipment. Under the situation of high popularity of use and wide range of application, fuses appear in the market with various types and functions. In general, a common fuse structural classification includes fuse, thermal cutoffs fuse, plug-in fuse and tube fuse. Because there are different options for fast replacement and safely, plug-in fuses gradually become the mainstream product in the market.
Traditional plug-in fuse structure is mainly composed of a package case and a fuse body with two pins. The fuse is packed inside the package case with its fuse body linked to the two parallel pins. In use, the plug-in fuse is inserted into the socket of a fuse holder to achieve electric connection and protect the circuit from overloaded current.
Although plug-in fuse can increase safety, because it is inside the socket of the fuse holder, it is hard to notice if the fuse is blown or improperly inserted. It tends to prolong the repair time because immediate correction is difficult. Therefore, improvement is needed.
in view of this, the inventor was devoted to eliminating the above shortcoming with professional knowledge and experience and invented the safety fuse with blown-fuse indicator.
Summary of the Invention
The main objective of the invention is to provide a safety fuse with blown-fuse indicator where it provides precise replacement timing, and because of its easy replacement, it helps cutting back repair time and increase safety.
To achieve the above objective, the safety fuse with blown-fuse indicator in the invention adopts a plug-in structure and consists of a package case, two pins where a fuse body packed inside the package case is linked to the two pins. Particularly, there are a high resistor and a micro indicator in parallel connection with the two pins inside the package case. Electric current normally passes through the fuse. When the fuse is blown due to overloaded current, electric current passes through the micro indicator and lights it up. Thus, proper replacement can be made immediately.
To make the patent examiners understand the contents and benefits of the invention, description in details is given with figures in the following.

Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment
Please refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2. The safety fuse with blown-fuse indicator in the invention consists of: A package case (1), made of transparent or semi-transparent plastic or acrylic materials, with a central space (10) and a left and a right spaces (11, 12). The central space (10) and the left and the right spaces (11, 12) are design that one end is closed and the other is open.
At the closed end of the left and the right spaces (11, 12), there are small holes (111, 121)(nol shown in the figures); Two pins (2), made of metal of good electric conductivity, with one end in sharp conductive tip (20) and the other end forming a small bump (21), is packed into the left space and the right space (11, 12) of the package case (I). Through the small bump (21), they are placed into the small hole (111, 121) for positioning. When the two pins (2) are placed into the left space and the right space (11, 12), fixation can be achieved through single point pressing with the two press holes (13) on the two sides to prevent the two pins (2) from taking off; A fuse (3), with two ends connecting to the sides of the two pins (2), is packed inside the package case (1).
The structural characteristic for the invention is that inside the package case (1) there are a high resistor (4) and a micro indicator (5) in parallel connection with the two pins (2).
The high resistor (4) makes electric current flow to the fuse (3). The micro indicator (5) is used to judge and indicate whether the fuse (3) is normal or broken. it can be any color of neon lamp.
Please refer to Figure 3 and Figure 4. When the above safety fuse with blown-fuse indicator is used for multi-port terminal platform (6), the fuse is placed into the socket (7) of a fuse holder. When it is electrically connected, normally electric current passes through the fuse (3). But when the fuse (3) is blown due to overloaded current, the electric current automatically passes through high resistor (4) and lights up the micro indicator (5), which in this way reminds the user of blown fuse (3) or malfunction and necessary replacement, as shown in Figure 5 (A) and (B).
Because the fuse structure in the present invention has basic power shutoff function, there is no safety concern. The micro indicator allows the user quickly to identify a blown fuse or problematic fuse. On the other hand, it allows quick replacement and short repair time.
In su imary, the safety fuse with blown-fuse indicator in the present invention is a breakthrough for the early technology in achieving the objective and effect. The review of patents and related information does not find similar structure published. Thus, the invention meets the patent requirements in innovation and progressiveness. A patent application is filed accordingly.
