Abstract
The Christmas tree bag is placed in a mat-like form on the floor next to the Christmas tree that is wanted to be disposed of, much of the bag material being retained within the outer peripheral edge portion of the mat. The tree trunk is then placed on top of the bag in the allocated central place 2. The bag material is then released by opening along perforations in the edge portion. The bag is pulled up around the tree and drawstrings 3 are pulled together so the tree is completely enclosed inside the Christmas tree bag.

DESCRIPTION
The Christmas Tree Bag This invention relates to a device that disposes of real Christmas trees with minimum mess.
When the Christmas season is over you have to dispose of your Christmas tree.
Generally you will need to take the tree through your home to remove it for disposal.
This can make a mess and leave pine needles all over floors and on carpets, this bag is designed so that the tree can be placed directly on top of the bag from the pot or stand from where it is in the home, the bag can then be pulled up around the tree to cover the entire tree within the bag and tied at the top and the sides by use of a draw string.
l'his keeps the tree completely enclosed within the bag stopping any mess or pine needles falling onto floors and carpets while removing the tree from your home. By using the side drawstrings, they pull the tree together making it more compact making it easier to handle.
The Christmas Tree Bag makes sure that all the mess of disposing of a real Christmas tree after the Christmas holiday has finished is all enclosed inside the bag.
The essential features are: 1) The perforated edge where the bag is opened up 2) The drawstrings around and at the top of the bag to enclose the tree.
Figure 1 & 2 shows the bag from two different angles: Figure 1 shows the bag as you look at it, this shows the perforated edge where it is broken and the inside of the bag comes out.
Figure 2 shows the bag from an overhead view, again showing the perforated edge and also the reinforced middle part where the trunk of the tree will be placed.
Figure 3 shows the tree (once removed from the stand or pot) placed onto the bag.
The trunk of the tree is positioned in the middle on top of the reinforced part.
Figure 4 shows what the bag would look like when the perforated edge is broken and the bag is pulled up to full capacity around the tree Figure 5 shows the drawstrings pulled together to enclose the tree in the bag.
The Christmas Tree bag is designed so that when Christmas is over and you need to dispose of your real Christmas tree that is in your home, you get the bag out and place it next to the tree.
You remove the tree from the stand or the pot that it is in and place the trunk of the tree in the centre of the bag 2, shown in figure 3.
This part of the bag 2, where the trunk is placed, is reinforced, not only for extra support but also shows users where to place the tree.
The user then has to tear around the perforated edge 1, contained within the edge is the bag. The user is advised (in the instructions for use) to place both hands on either side of the bag and pull the bag up as shown in figure 4.
The bag inside the perforated edge will be larger than the frame of the bag to allow for the trees shape, so the bag will come out and up.
There will be drawstring pulls around the bag at equal intervals all the way up the bag as shown in figure 4.
These drawstrings are designed to enclose the tree within the bag so it is securely fastened closed and all the mess is contained inside and also to compact the tree together so making it more streamline.
The side drawstrings that are positioned all the way up the length of the bag as shown in figure 4 are then pulled together as shown in figure 5.
Once the drawstrings are pulled together and fastened the tree is completely enclosed within the bag so this will keep all the mess of the tree including the needles contained inside. As the drawstrings are pulled together and fastened this also makes the tree compact and smaller in size, therefore making it much easier to carry and dispose of.
Due to the fact that there. are so many varieties of trees, with different shapes and sizes we plan to have two different size bags. Both bags will be identical in design, production and use, one will be for the smaller tree, 0-5 foot and a larger bag that will accommodate trees five foot and over.
