Abstract

A paint container has a cylindrical body 1 with a handle 2 and an opening in the top surface which can be sealed by screw-threaded lid 3. An outlet 4 in the curved sidewall of the container can be sealed by a screw-threaded cap 5 and allows the contents of the container to be transferred to another receptacle. Excess paint can be wiped from a brush by use of a shelf 6 in the interior of the container.

Description

PAINT CONTAINER
The invention relates to a paint container the type of which is portable and contains a handle, an opening to its top, which is sealed with a removable screw top lid and an opening to the side which also incorporates a removable screw top seal.
Such containers are well known, but suffer from the disadvantage that they are not easily opened, do not allow the contents to be transferred efficiently to other receptacles and in certain circumstances once opened the lids can not be replaced to provide an air tight seal, which results in a deterioration of the contents.
The object of this invention is to provide a paint container which allows the contents to be easily accessible, efficiently transferable and to be stored in an airtight container that will reduce deterioration and wastage of the contents.
Accordingly, this invention provides a portable circular paint container which gives easy access to the contents from the top and provides the opportunity to efficiently transfer the contents to other receptacles due to an outlet at the side, the container remains air tight due to the screw top closures at the top and side outlets which reduces deterioration in the content.
Preferably the container is made of metal or plastics material or from a combination of these materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows a side view of the whole container; Figure 2 shows a front view of the container: As shown in Figure 1 the container 1 has a handle 2 attached to it for transportation, a removable screw top opening lid 3 for access the contents and a side outlet 4 which when the container is tilted at an angle allows the content to be transferred and which has a removable screw top seal 5. On the inside of the container is a shelf 6 which allows excess paint to be removed from brushes.
The removable screw top lid 3 and the removable screw top seal 5 when fixed to the container make the inside of it airtight.

Claims (3)

1. A paint container including a circular receptacle with a handle, a screw top opening to the top, an opening to the side which is sealed with a screw top and a shelf on the inside.
2. A paint container as claimed in any proceeding claim which is made from metal or plastics material or from a combination of these materials.
3. A paint container substantially as herein described above and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
