Abstract

An all in one self-inflating and deflating airbed with sleeping bag. The sleeping bag has an interlayer which is made of 100% cotton, 3. The sleeping bag can be separated from the air bed by a zip 1, for machine washing. The pump which powers the inflation and deflation is powered by 4D alkaline batteries 2. This pump is built in to the air bed itself. This bag was also designed so that it will fold up in to a compact space.

This invention relates to a self-inflating and deflating air bed, with sleeping bag.

This bed was invented for the type of people that like to travel. The nucleus of the product is an easy self-inflating and deflating air bed. The built-in battery operated pump requires 4D Alkaline batteries. To inflate the bed a switch is located on die pump, to deflate the bed turn die switch in the opposite direction. The pump is covered over by a Velcro flap of material. The bed also includes a sleeping bag of which is attached to the bed, (see Fig 1). This was designed so that the bed could be as compact as possible. I want to include the bed with two different types of bags. The first bag being an easy to transport over night type bag, (see Fig 2). This will fit into a compartment at the base of the bag. It would be easy to reach and will not take up lots of room. This bag is a unisex item that can be used for many purposes, for example travelling to friend's for the occasional sleepover. This product will create demand world wide as a "must have" fashion facility in the untapped market. The second type of bag that 1 want to include the bed in is a hiking rucksack. I wanted to include the bed with this rucksack as it would help hikers, as space for them is limited. So this bed bag would be a great advantage for them as it is comfortable, small and light and they wouldn't have to worry about finding room for a sleeping bag. This bag will be able to fit into a standard pocket in a hiking rucksack. The sleeping bag can also be separated by a zip located at the top of the bag so that it can be placed in the washing machine.

The difference between the two bags are that one would be used for indoors, while the other one for outdoor use only. So the materials are slightly different on the outside of each sleeping bag. A water proof layer will be surrounding the outdoor bag but will still have the warm fleece layer contained on the inside. The bed provides a comfortable night sleep and does not take up lots of room when it needs to be used for a confined space outdoors.

The bed has been tested by several sixteen year olds. The six feet in size boys, have reported that the bed in convertible and provides a quiet night sleep.

The bed bag invention will now be described by way of example, with reference accompanied with drawings in which:

In figure 1, the bag fully inflated and from a birds eye view. Unit 1 shows the zip, which is located at the top of the bed. 2 is located at the top left of the bag, this is the easy assessable self-inflating and deflating pump. This pump is built into the airbag its self. 3 shows the inter layer of the sleeping bag. This material is 100% cotton. Unit 4 is the other layer of the sleeping bag, this fleece outer layer is a recycled material that is also wash proof. Located at unit 5 is the sleeping bag zip, this zip runs down the right side of the bed bag and finishes at point 6.

Figure 2 shows a close up of how the air pump works. Located to the left of the diagram is the battery pack, 1. This holds 4D batteries. Unit 2 is the pumps itself, this pump is labelled with instructions of how to inflate the bed. Unit 3 (on and inflate), unit 4 (off and stop) and unit 5 (open and detach). These instructions are accompanied by arrows which point to the edge of the pump. When the pump is turned in its case the arrows turn with the pump. These arrows will then meet certain point on the outside case, for example when the (on, inflate) arrow points to unit 6 inflation takes place. When the open arrow is pointing to the mark on the outside case the pump can then be easily pulled out of case. This can be used to deflate the air bag, for example if the pump is replaced upside down in its case the pump will suck air out of the bag, (deflation).

Claims

Claims 1. A battery powered all in one self inflating and deflating air bed with washable, detachable sleeping bag. 2. As described in claim 1, the ethos of the design is for a comfortable, easy, quick and fashionable bed compact inside of a rucksack. 3. The fleece outer layer is machine washable and is a recycled material. 4. The sleeping bag can be separated from the air bed so that it can be easily machine washable. 3 Claims

1. A stylish self inflating and deflating airbed with an all in one sleeping bag, this can be packed into a small compartment.

2. The airbed itself holds an easy to operate air pump, which is located within a separate compartment of the sleeping bag.

3. This pump as included in claim 1 is controlled by various switches which are located on the outside of the pump, the pump is powered by batteries of which are easy to access.

4. The sleeping holds the airbed and has a separate compartment for the user to sleep in, which is known as a sleeping bag.

5. The 'bed bag' can be used for both indoor and outdoor camping.
