Abstract

A device that traps and stores the smoke which is produced when a cigarette is smoked to prevent the harmful effects of secondary smoke inhalation by non-smokers (passive smoking) has a housing in which a cigarette 24 can be held. A mouthpiece 25 is provided through which smoke can be inhaled by the smoker and exhaled back into the housing. The flows of air into the housing and of smoke out of and within the housing are controlled by a system of one way valves 9, 10, 22, 23, 31 and a fan 11. A chamber 1 within the housing has a motorised piston mechanism 7 to compress the smoke and push it into a removable storage container 18. An overload tank 30 is also provided to temporarily hold the smoke while the piston is operating, releasing the smoke into the piston chamber 1 when the piston contacts the pressure release switch 6. A refillable gas lighter 28 may be provided to light a cigarette placed within the device. Smoke can be released from the storage container 18 through a smoke release nozzle 21.

Description

* 2440897 Smoking Box This invention relates to a device for stopping

passive smoking.

When you are smoking people around you get affected from your smoke This device will stop this from happening It will trap all the smoke inside one chamber.

This idea is beneficial to prevent the non smoking public away from the fumes produced by smokers, especially children who are susceptible to passive smoking in the borne environment The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Fig -I shows a general overview of the apparatus.

Fig -2 shows the smoke compression device, the motors and the overload smoke tank and air fan.

Fig-3 shows the smoke tank system.

Fig -4 shows cigarette holder and inhale/exhale system.

Fig-5 shows the ignition system based on a gas lighter The first part is illustrated in figures 2, 4 and 5.

Figure 4 shows the cigarette position in the box Where the cigarette holder and two air ways which are controlled by two one way valves in opposite directions One allows inhalation (-p1) of smoke, the other exhalation (p1) The cigarette holder is removable and screws on and off the box.

The cigarette is lit by means of a gas lighter positioned beneath the cigarette, as shown in Figs I and 5.

Figure 2 shows the frame of the box and 2 ac motors. One which drives the fan which supplies air into the box to keep the cigarette alight, and when inhalation (-p1) takes place the one way valve (31) will open to let air in.

The other motor is used to press all the waste smoke into a secondary chamber, which happens during exhalation (p1) the piston (7) shown in Figure 1 will go backwards towards the piston pressure switch (5) by means of a piston screw (8) until it activates the afore mentioned switch (5).

Piston motor (4) then moves the piston back to the piston release switch (6). This action cuts the power to the piston motor (4) The exhaled smoke will enter the piston chamber through a one way valve (9), and exit through one way valve (10).

Both motors are supplied by ac batteries (14) and connected to an onloff switch (15) as shown in Figure 1.

An overload tank (30) can be seen jn Figures 1 and 2. This tajçes in the smoke when piston (7) is in the operating position.

When piston (7) reaches piston pressure release switch (6) the overload tank releases the smoke into the piston chamber driving the piston towards the piston pressure switch (5).

Fig3 shows the excess smoke tank (18) which traps the smoke in through one way valve (10) The compressed smoke drives piston (19) backwards towards filling position.

When full, the compartment can be removed and the contents discharged by use of smoke release nozzle (21). When discharged the piston (19) can be reset to empty position by the spring (20).

Claims

Claims I -Smoke box unit means a device for containing passive smoke,

preventing contamination of surrounding area.

2-The smoke box according to claim I which will compress all smoke produced from one or two cigarette 3-Smoke box compresses the smoke in one tank by a presser which works with ac motor and ac battery 4-Smoke box fan with ac motor and battery keeps the cigarette lit and the one way valve supplies user with air on demand. One way valve allows the amount of air to be regulated, depending on the suction applied by the user.

5-Smoke box has an overload tank. When the presser is busy the overload tank will take all the smoke temporally until presser is ready, then the overload tank will empty to the presser to load main tank.

6-Smoke box has a lighter to light up cigarette and can be refilled.

7-Smoke box has a cigarette holder which has two passages for air controlled with two one way valves. The first air way allows you to inhale from a cigarette and the second air way when transports the exhaled smoke from the user into the box. Then into the presser, and then into the tank which can be emptied when ready.
