Abstract

The system comprises of a vertical pasting board 1 which slots into a base unit 2 which sits on the floor. The base unit incorporates a dispenser unit 4 from which wallpaper can be dispensed over the unit so that it can be measured, cut and pasted. Clips 7 retain the wallpaper and blocks 8 ensure that the wallpaper remains straight during measuring, cutting and pasting. The base unit also comprises a tray 5 in which self adhesive wallpapers can be soaked prior to hanging.

<p>Description: This is an apparatus which allows the measuring, cutting and pasting of wallpaper in a vertical position, ideally suited for decorating in confined spaces such as small bathrooms or bedrooms where it is not possible to erect a conventional horizontal pasting table. In addition this system allows for continuous pieces of wallpaper up to 11' long, to be measured, cut and pasted in a single action.</p>
<p>The system consists of a flat vertical board (1) 72"x 24"x 1" which sits in a horizontal base (2) which stands upon the floor.</p>
<p>The base of the prototype is constructed from wood, but for a production model, the proposal is that the base would be constructed from a single piece of moulded plastic.</p>
<p>: **. The base features the following: * On one side of the base is a tray (4) which has a rod (6) across it's length, which can suspend a wallpaper roll. This section acts as a dispenser for the wallpaper roll.</p>
<p>* In the centre is a 1"x 24" x 6" deep slot (3) into which the vertical board (1) is slotted. The vertical board requires no mechanical fixing to keep it in place, it is held secure by gravity.</p>

<p>The vertical board is constructed as follows: * The vertical board (1) is 72" x 24" x 1" constructed from a timber frame and hardboard face.</p>
<p>* The vertical board is located into the central slot of the base to a depth of 6" leaving a 66" vertical standing board.</p>
<p>* The board has a printed scale (9) along irs side, which continues over the top and down the other side to allow for the measuring of the wallpaper in situ.</p>
<p>* There are two clips (7) at the base of the board to retain the wallpaper while it is being measured, cut and pasted.</p>
<p>* Blocks of wood (8) fixed to the edges of the board ensure the wallpaper remains straight while it is being measured.</p>
<p>Page!: Operation of the apparatus: The wallpaper roll (9) is placed in the dispenser using the horizontal bar.</p>
<p>The wallpaper is pulled over the top of the vertical board (path indicated 10) and down the other side where it is held in place by the clips at the base of the board. The wallpaper can now be measured to length using the scale printed along the side of the board.</p>
<p>When the wallpaper has been cut to length, it can be pasted in situ on the board.</p>
