Description

1 2438825 Handibag

Description:

Most handbags and shoulder bags are used by females in a variety of situations as a way of keeping all there everyday items that they need in one place, where they can be easily found and reached, everyday female necessities such as make-up, purse, hairbrush, diary (ect).

The problems with handbags is different bags are needed for different occasions some younger females don't even bother with a handbag and cram all there necessities into there pockets because they do not want to be holding anything or have anything dangling from there shoulder, they like to have there hands free all the time, holding a handbag to them its uncool. Another problem with handbags is that when ever you have to put them down it becomes acceptable for theft, but with the handibag you simply put it on around the waist, and for extra security if needed simply turn it around so the pockets are on the inside.(see figures 8 to 14) The handibag is a handbag that solves the above problems and more, it transforms from a handbag or shoulder bag to a clutch bag and beach bag as well as a garment in seconds and back again (as shown in figures 1 to 7), it can be worn over existing clothing, anything from jeans to beachwear, it is also reversible and can be worn with or without shoulder straps (as shown in figures 8 to 14), so no need to ever leave your handbag laying around or to have to dance round it at a night club, simply put it on and take it off when needed, and also with the help of a series of fasteners and flaps you can change the look of your outfit as the handibag has a cover that comes out and can be replaced with one of your choice that can be made Out of a multiple of fabrics with any colour, style or design you want so it can go with any outfit you are wearing at the time, the cover can also be used as a sarong (as shown in figure 15).

The handibag can be used as a regular handbag or shoulder bag with adjustable straps, inside and outside pocket compartments and a large central compartment, and also be used as a reversible garment that can be worn over existing clothes with or without shoulder straps, also it has interchangeable covers so that one side of the garment can be changed to a style, colour and design of your choice. To change the handibag into its different types of bag it's a simply case of moving around the four strap fasteners (40) to the different body and wing strap fasteners (33) (34) (37) and (38), apart from the clutch bag where the strap would just be removed (see figures 3,4,5,6,16 & 17) The handibag is fully washable and can be made from a multiple of different fabrics such as leather, denim, cotton (ect) as well as a multiple of different fastening devices, and it should be appreciated that the handibag could also be more rounded or squarer shaped or a less symmetrical shape and still be within the scope of the present invention.

The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the embodiments shown in the accompanying figures, it should be kept in mind that the following described embodiments are only given as an example and should not be construed as limiting the inventive concepito any particular physical configuration.

The key to the bag assembly is that both the wings (4) and (6) are slightly smaller to the body (2) so that when the inner wings (3) and (5) are brought together and placed into (1) the inner body (see figure 18) they sit in the centre of the inner body so that (26) the body fastener can be seen around the edge (see figure 5) and along with (31) the side fastener the bag can simply be brought together with no trouble.

The side split (see 46 in figure 8) is there so that the person wearing the garment has no restriction in movement so that things like dancing even running will not be restricted in anyway, the side split is just an empty space but could just be a slit up the sides, or it could be filled in with a stretchy kind of fabric so that its level of restriction still remains.

The outer shell and straps (see figures 16 and 17) can be made from a multiple of fabrics but are best made from a fabric which is rigid enough for the bag to maintain its shape but at the same time flexible enough to provide a comfortable garment.

There are a number of fastening devices used in the characterization of this bag and garment, fastening means and devices such as buttons, zips, hook on fasteners, Velcro, and press-stud fasteners, all used in the appropriate places, but arrange of other fastening devices can be used such as D-ring fasteners, hook and loop fasteners, buckles, magnetic fasteners and many other fastening types of devices.

A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 16 -shows the two straps which each are comprised of two strap fasteners (40) which are used for fastening the strap on and off the bag and the garment, (41) shows the strap adjuster which is used for adjusting the length of the strap, (42) is the strap suspension and is there for comfort on the shoulders when movement is made with the garment on, (43) is the strap flap and is used for removing the strap fastener at one end and the strap adjuster so the strap (39) can be turn around so both sides can be used, (44) and (45) are the upper and lower strap flap fasteners which are used for connecting on the strap fastener by fastening together.

Figure 17 -shows the outer body shell which is comprised of, (2) which shows the central outer body shell, (4) shows the outer left wing and (6) shows the outer right wing, (8) shows the outer band which is securely fixed to the top of the central outer body shell and both outer right and left wings, (33) (37) and (38) are strap fasteners and are used in conjunction with the strap fasteners (40) in figure 16 to construct garment with shoulder straps, (25) shows outer band end fastener which is used with the inner band end fastener (24) in figure 18 to secure garment around the waist, (22) shows outer left wing fastener which is to be used in conjunction with (23) in figure 18 the inner right wing fastener to bring the front of the garment together, (34) shows the lower body strap fasteners which are used in conjunction with (33) the upper body straps fasteners along with (40) the strap fasteners in figure 16 to configure the straps on the bag, (19) and (20) are the left and right wing pocket fasteners which become the inside pockets of the bag and the front pockets of the garment, (21) are the body pocket fasteners which become the outside pockets of the bag and the back pockets of the garment, (13) and (15) are outer wing strips that are securely fixed, (11) is the outer central body strip and is also securely fixed.
