Abstract
A satellite navigation receiver system is disclosed comprising a hand-held device 1, and a satellite navigation receiver 3. The satellite navigation receiver system starts the navigation function instantly after the satellite navigation receiver 3 is inserted into the slot 2 of the hand-held device 1. The satellite navigation receiver 3 may include a memory (30,Fig2) to store software and map data. A program detection and actuation means (12,Fig2), detects the satellite navigation receiver 3 is inserted into the slot 2 of the hand-held device 1 and actuates a display unit 13 to display a first and second icon (130,14,Fig3). The satellite navigation receiver 3 may be available for hand-held devices such as personal digital assistant's (PDA's) or tablet personal computer's.
Description

INTELLECTUAL SATELLITE NAVIGATION RECEIVER SYSTEM

The present invention relates to a satellite navigation receiver system and, more particularly, to an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system.

A conventional global positioning system (GPS) generally comprises a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet personal computer (PC), and a memory. The memory stores therein a main program, electronic map and map information. However, a user will have to accomplish multiple complicated procedures so as to start the navigation, so that the user cannot operate the GPS easily and conveniently, thereby causing inconvenience to the user.

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system that is operated instantly by insertion of an intellectual satellite navigation receiver.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system, wherein the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system starts the navigation function instantly after the intellectual satellite navigation receiver is inserted into the slot of the hand-held device, thereby facilitating the user operating the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system.

A further objective of the present invention is to provide an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system, wherein the intellectual satellite navigation receiver is available for different hand-held devices, thereby greatly enhancing the versatility of the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system.

A further objective of the present invention is to provide an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system, wherein the intellectual S satellite navigation receiver system is operated easily and conveniently.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

In the drawings: Fig. I is an exploded perspective view of an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention.

Fig. 2 is a block diagram of the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system as shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 is a plan assembly operational view of the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system as shown in Fig. 1.

Fig. 4 is a schematic operational view of the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system as shown in Fig. 3.

Fig. 5 is an exploded perspective view of an intellectual satellite navigation receiver of the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system as shown inFig. I.

S

Referring to the drawings and initially to Figs. 1-4, an intellectual satellite navigation receiver system in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a hand-held device 1, and an intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 inserted into the hand-held device 1.

The hand-held device 1 is preferably a PDA and has an inside provided with a central processing unit 10, an outside formed with a slot 2 electrically connected to the central processing unit 10 and a face provided with a display unit 13 electrically connected to the central processing unit 10.

Preferably, the display unit 13 is a liquid crystal display.

A power supply unit 11 is electrically connected to the central processing unit 10 to provide an electric power to the central processing unit 10 and the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3.

The intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 is inserted into the slot 2 of the hand-held device 1. The intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 has an inside provided with a memory 30 to store a software, main program, electronic map and map information.

An automatic program detection and actuation device 12 is electrically connected to the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3.

Thus, when the automatic program detection and actuation device 12 detects that the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 is inserted into the slot 2 of the hand-held device 1, the automatic program detection and actuation device 12 automatically actuates the display unit 13 to display a first window icon 130 and a second window icon 14 as shown in Fig. 3.

In such a manner, when a user clicks the first window icon 130 of the display unit 13, the automatic program detection and actuation device 12 actuates the memory 30 and the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 to start navigation, and when the user clicks the second window icon 14 of the display unit 13, the automatic program detection and actuation device 12 actuates the display unit 13 to display a plurality of sub-icons, including a map 140, a film 141, a cell phone 142 and a network 143 for selection of the user as shown inFig.4.

Referring to Fig. 5, the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 includes an interface card 5 inserted into the slot 2 of the hand-held device I and having an upper end provided with a transmission arm 50 having a groove 52, and a receiving antenna 4 electrically connected to the interface card 5 and having a lower end secured in the groove 52 of the transmission arm 50 by a transmission plug 500 and a fastening screw 510. Preferably, the interface card is a SD card or a CF card. Thus, the receiving antenna 4 receives the related navigation information emitted from an external satellite, and the interface card 5 transmits the related navigation information to the hand-held device 1 to provide the navigation function.

* Accordingly, the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system starts the navigation function instantly after the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 is inserted into the slot 2 of the hand-held device 1, thereby * facilitating the user operating the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system. In addition, the intellectual satellite navigation receiver 3 is available for different hand-held devices, thereby greatly enhancing the versatility of the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system. Further, the intellectual satellite navigation receiver system is operated easily and conveniently.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
