Abstract

A pair of self folding glasses have hinge and spring mechanisms A,B and automatically fold when removed from the head. Glasses that are designed to be worn with crash helmets, with shortened arms G that do not need to go sit above the ears. Padding E on the interior of glasses prevent them from slipping, while holes D in frame aid air flow to prevent condensation build up. Lugs F on the interior of arms G may prevent the arm ends touching and marking the inner side of lenses.

Description

1 2437552 Self Folding Motorcycle Glasses This invention relates to
glasses or sunglasses that can be worn with a motorcycle helmet.

The current style of glasses may not fit under a crash helmet due to the tight fitting of the helmet. Contact lenses can be lost or moved due to the wind. These glasses are also designed to fold automatically when taken off the head, thus allowing quick and safe storage in to a pocket or pouch even while wearing gloves. These glasses can either be sunglasses or prescription lenses mounted in these frames.

The glasses that we have designed have shorter arms that do not need to slide over the ear while wearing a crash helmet Padding on the interior of the glasses (E) grips to the face and nose to prevent movement and slip.

Spaces in padding (C & D) permit airflow and prevent condensation and perspiration build up.

Spring mechanism (B) grips glasses arms to the head, Hinge and spring mechanism (A) at bridge of nose and the hinge and spring mechanism (B) at the joints in the arms causes glasses to close in on themselves automatically when glasses are removed from the head.

Lugs on the interior of arms (F) rests on interior padding of glasses when glasses are in folded position, this prevents the arm ends touching and marking the inner side of the lenses.

The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Front view: shows the shape of the glasses incorporating the air holes.

Side view: shows the short arms with the wrap around style of the glasses and the air holes.

Rear view shows the spring and hinge mechanisms on the bridge of the glasses and on the arm joints. Also shows the padding on the interior of the glasses that prevent the glasses from slipping along with the air holes and the gaps in the padding which prevent condensation or perspiration build up.

Top view show the wrap around style of the glasses along with the short arms and hinge and spring folding points on the nose and arms.
