Abstract

A paint brush with a handle 1 the shape of which has been modified such that it may be used to prise open the lid from a paint tin. The modified shaping is at the distal end remote from the bristles. The shaping forms a tip 2 with a ridge 3 formed down the concave side to provide added strength. The shaping may be such that it faces either the direction of the broad side of the brush or the narrow edge of the brush. The handle may be made from metal or hard plastic.

Description

1 2437497 Paintbrush with modified handle This invention relates to
paintbrushes with handles that have had their shapes modified in such a way they can be used to prise open the lids from paint tins.

The paintbrush handles can be made from metal or hard plastic using injection moulding manufacturing techniques.

In design A': -The underside and sides of the end of the handle 1 curves up and inward slightly. Whilst the top curves down and then up too form a thin horizontal tip 2 between two and three millimeters thick and between four and nine millimeters long. A ridge 3 runs down the top of the paintbrush tip too add strength to the tip whilst the prising action is taking place, as seen in drawing 1/2.

In design B': -the sides of the paintbrush handle end, curves round too form a tip 2 between two and three millimeters thick and between four and nine millimeters long.

A ridge 3 runs down the concave side of the tip too provide added strength too the tip whilst the prising action is taking place, as seen in drawing 2/2.

The paintbrush handles are also shaped in such a way that there are no sharp edges to cause injury or discomfort to the user.

Claims (1)

  1.
Claims 1. This invention relates to paintbrushes with handles that have
had their shapes modified in such a way that they can be used to pries open the lids from paint tins.

In each design the priesing tool is an integrated part of the paintbrush handle, requires no attachments, additional parts or assembling.

2. The paintbrush handles can be made from hard plastics or metals and injection-moulding techniques could be used in the manufacture of said handles.

3. In design A', the paintbrush consisted of two ends, one end consisting of an elongated forward edge with a plurality of bristles being attached, the other end of said paintbrush is shaped so that the bottom edge and sides curve in, whilst top curves down them up to form a horizontal upward pointing tip, of an appropriate size and shape to be suitable to be used to pries open paint tin lids.

4. In design B' the paintbrush consisted of two ends, one end consisting of an elongated forward edge with a plurality of bristles being attached, the other end of said paintbrush is shaped so that the sides curve around in the same direction too form a vertical tip of an appropriate size and shape to be suitable to be used to pries open paint tin lids.

5. The paintbrush handles are also shaped in such a way that there are no sharp edges to cause injury or discomfort to the user.

6. That a paintbrush handles made from metal or hard plastic if shaped in an appropriate way can be strong, enough to pries the lids off paint tins.
