Abstract

A powered stapler (10) comprises a body (14) movable relative to a base (16). A staple firing mechanism is operable to fire a staple from the body (14) along the staple firing path, wherein the stapler (10) comprises restricting means arranged to prevent the staple firing mechanism from firing a staple when the base (16) does not intercept the firing path.
