Appliances for use in milking animals.-A cow tail holder for use during milking consists of a fixed jaw 5 and a spring-controlled slidable jaw 8 upon a shank 4 carried by a plate 1 which is adapted to be secured, as by a strap 19 or spring clip, to the milker's leg. By the use. of a U- shaped lever 12, pivoted at 3 to the plate and passing through eye-bolts at the sides of the movable jaw, the holder can be opened and can then be applied to the animal's tail.
