Abstract

A stay 10 comprising a frame member 18, a sash member 12, first and second intermediate members pivotally connected to the frame member and the sash member. The second intermediate member 26 is pivotally connected to the first intermediate member 24. The sash member 12is pivotally connected to the second intermediate member 26 at a position between the pivotal connections of the second intermediate member 26 to the frame member 18 and the first intermediate member 24. The position of the pivotal connection between the frame member and one of the intermediate members 28 is movable relative to the frame member. The position of the pivotal connection between the sash member and the second intermediate member 36 is movable relative to the second intermediate member as the sash member moves relative to the frame member. The frame member 18 may be a track. Curved slot 62 may allow the motion of the sash to be modified. The arrangement of the stay may ensure that seals are not trapped, or to accommodate different sash or frame profiles.
