Abstract

A hooked shower gel bottle 1 comprises a bottle body, a product dispensing cap 2, and a sliding hook 3. The sliding hook 3 is attached to the bottle 1 such that it may be slid between a closed position in which it is flush with the bottle body, and an open position in which it may be used to suspend the bottle 1. The sliding hook 3 is retained within a track, and, when sliding into an open position, is stopped when sufficient gap between the top of the bottle 1 and the under side of the hook 3 is revealed.

Description

HOOKED SHOWER GEL PACK I

This invention relates to a Shower Gel pack that has a sliding hook.

There are commonly available packs that have several different means of hooking a plastic bottle on to a hook or a shower rail. Examples of those packs embody a formed hook as part of the bottle, a separate hook which clips on to the bottle, and a separate hook which is clipped to the bottle and which swings out to provide the hook. One problem with these packs is that they are restricted in their aesthetic appearance when sold in a discerning market.

According to the present invention there is provided a pack, which comprises the Bottle, a product dispensing Cap, and a Slider. The Slider is permanently fitted to the bottle but in such a way that when not in use it is in a closed down position. Before use, the slider is caused to slide up the side of the bottle being retained within a track.

It slides up until its movement is stopped, having then revealed sufficient of a gap between the top of the bottle and the underside of the slider so as to allow the pack to be hooked on to a hook or a shower rail during use.

The specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of a detailed description, which also refers to the accompanying single drawing marked 1/ 1 Figure 1: This shows the front view of the assembled pack, with the Bottle standing on its Cap, and the Slider in the closed down position. The Slider can be seen to have small ribs by which it is slid up using finger pressure only.

Figure 2: This shows the front view of the assembled pack, again with the Bottle assembled with the Cap but now with the Slider raised to the extent of its travel. The retaining track in the Bottle is now revealed.

Figure 3: This illustrates the side view of the assembled closed pack.

Figure 4: This illustrates the opposite side view of the assembled closed pack showing the panel of small ribs used to allow finger pressure to raise the Slider.

Referring to the drawing the Slider Hook Shower Gel Pack can be seen to comprise a Bottle I which ultimately contains the Shower Gel toiletry product. The Bottle can be almost any size, and although primarily used to contain Shower Gel toiletry products, the design and function of the pack is able to be adapted for use where the Bottle needs to be suspended vertically from a hook or rail.

The Cap 2 is either a separate component; snapped on to the Bottle, or formed as part of the Bottle having a restricted orifice through which product is dispensed. The pack stands on the Cap when sold in-store. The pack can also stand on the Cap if the Slider Hook is not used.

The Slider Hook 3 is a separate component which is shapedto the general contours of the Bottle 1, and clips on to the side of the Bottle 1 with integral inner rib or ribs which engage in a track or tracks formed on the external surface of the Bottle 1. The Slider Hook 3 has internal features that allow it to exhibit stops at the top and bottom of its travel. There is an additional stop at the top of its travel by way of the inner rib or ribs coming to the end of the track or tracks in the Bottle 1. The Slider Hook 3 is moved from its closed down position by pressing the side panel containing the external ribs in and also in an upwards direction.

When the Slider Hook 3 is in its open position, the resultant gap between the top of the Bottle I and the inner curve of the Slider Hook 3 allows it to be used to support the whole pack.

The Slider Hook 3 is closed down by pushing down its top curved surface until it again engages with the recessed form of the Bottle I. The Slider Hook 3 because of its aesthetic appearance, may alternatively be fitted as trim only and therefore not have any sliding function. Some packs which stand on their Caps are called Tottles, i.e. part Tube part Bottle. By having a restricted length track or tracks in the Bottle I the Slider Hook 3 would then be clipped on but not allowed to slide. This added feature would be purely decorative, and becomes an additional claim of the invention.

Claims (1)

 1.
CLAIMS

1. A hooked pack that has a separately produced Hook; assembled to a Bottle or other Container, which when slid from its closed position offers an open hook by which the pack can be hung.

2. A hooked pack as claimed in Claim 1 where the Hook is positioned and assembled with the Bottle at the top end of the Bottle and allowed to slide in a track or tracks formed on the Bottle, thus offering an open hook by which the pack can be hung.

3. A hooked pack as claimed in Claim I or Claim 2 where the Hook is positioned and assembled with the Bottle anywhere around the periphery of the Bottle, and allowed to slide in a track or tracks formed on the Bottle thus offering an open hook by which the pack can be hung.

4. A hooked pack as claimed in Claim I where the Hook or any other shaped separate part is assembled to anywhere around the periphery of the Bottle or Container in a fixed manner to provide a decorative trim.

5. A hooked pack as claimed in Claim I where the Bottle or other Container has a specially shaped or formed neck or orifice design at its open end that eliminates the need for a separate dispensing Cap or Closure.

6. The pack, and any components from which it comprises, is made from plastics materials.

7. A hooked pack substantially as described herein with references to Figures 1 -4 of the accompanying drawing.

Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows

CLAIMS

1. A hooked pack that has a separately produced Slider Hook assembled to a Bottle or other Container, which when slid from its closed position offers an open hook from which the pack can be hung, and wherein when the Slider Hook is in its closed position the underside of the Slider Hook lies flush with the contours of the Bottle or other Container, the Hook being slidable in a vertical direction with respect to the Bottle or other Container, the Hook being provided with an inner rib or ribs which engage in a track or tracks formed on the Bottle or other Container.

2. A hooked pack as claimed in Claim I where the Bottle or other Container has a specially shaped or formed neck or orifice design at its open end that eliminates the need for a separate dispensing Cap or Closure, as the specially formed neck provides the orifice through which product is dispensed.

3. A hooked pack as claimed in Claims I and 2 where the Hook is assembled to anywhere around the periphery of the Bottle or Container in a fixed manner to provide a decorative and functional trim which matches the contours of the shape of the Bottle or Container.

4. A hooked pack as claimed in any previous claim, wherein the pack, or any components from which it comprises, is made from plastics material.

5. A hooked pack substantially as described herein with references to Figures 1 -4 of the accompanying drawing.
