Abstract

A laser marking tool 7 features a portion which is alignably attachable on a component part of a domestic heating system or similar, such as a valve 6 protruding from a radiator or boiler. Thus a laser mark 4 is aligned on a point of a wall or surface adjacent that component, such as to provide a centre point to drill the surface, so as to correctly align a pipe hole drilled in the surface, to the valve or other component.

Description

<p>Radiator Pipe Position Marker.</p>
<p>This invention relates to standard domestic central heating radiator valves and any V2 BSP fitting.</p>
<p>Once the radiator (I) has been fitted with its valves (6) and fixed to the wall (2), the compression nut and olive supplied with the radiator valve is temporally removed and put aside for re-use.</p>
<p>The Radiator Pipe Position Marker (7) is then inserted into the valve (6) where the flow and return pipes would go, the compression nut (8) on the R.P.P.M (7) is tighten by hand, the push button (5) on the R.P.P.M (7) is pressed omitting a red laser light (4) to pin point the centre for drilling holes into the floor board (3). Simply mark the floor boards with a pencil, remove the R.P.P.M (7) from the radiator valve (6) and refit the existing compression nut and olive. Repeat operation on the other valve, lift the radiator from its wall brackets, and drill clearance hole in floor boards fhr pipe insertion. Re-position the radiator onto its wall brackets and connect to pipe work. This precise procedure eliminates the chance of having unsightly crooked flow and return pipes feeding the radiator.</p>

Claims (1)

  1. <p>Claims: I.) A device to enable the accurate fitting of central heating
    radiator flow and return pipes where drilling floor boarding is required below the radiator.</p>
    <p>2.) A devise as in claim I, where drilling walls and ceilings is required to fit pipes, using any standard Y2" BSP elbow adaptor fittings.</p>
    <p>3.) A device as in claim I. Which when connected to a pipe feed or outlet connection on most Water or Gas appliances ( with appropriate size adaptors) will accurately pinpoint the drilling centre for pipework.</p>
