Abstract

A device to hold and stabilise items at a height or an angle that could be considered awkward for a user working alone, comprises an extendable arm supported by a heavy wheeled base. The arm may be set at any angle from the vertical to the horizontal and may be fixed at any one position by a removable pin. The arm is formed from a number of sections which are telescopically arranged, each section fitted with a platform or shelf. The free end of the arm is fitted with a gripping means.

Description

DESCRIPTION.4-

This invention relates to a device to hold and stahilise items at a height or an angle that could be considered awkward for a single person. Li is a device that could be used tbr a variety of tasks. and that can be used as a portable work station when not being used is a counterweight or any other supportive role.

Wait one third of people living alone and the ever increasing DI V market.

the challenge ot putting up single items such as arcitrade or dado rail is without help one ot' ti frustrating nature, this devise consists out extending arm that comes from a weighted base lix stability, the device will ha e a one arm that should be three interlocking SCGtiOflS, that afi extend irom eaen other.

thts ts to gain maximum neight and strength. the arm is bolted to a arced base tin the purpose of being adjustable as required by the user. this will be locked tn by a pin at the point of a selected angle by the user, as the equtpment has interehangcabk heads it means that the use Rn the device can ix, varied, the reason tin so marty pinning opportunities is to make sure that rio single point from the floor to the ceiling can not be reached, other roles of the device should gnc a raised working platflrm for working oft. decorating would be a prime example of the requirement to have your tools at a reachable height.

akI the ue oN eketrical head would gic sali access to power without dangerous leads, as the lead to the head would run up through the arm, also a head that would let sou nail through it to pin would in place such as Mud wallini' as this is by experience a awkward job lix a single person.

flit device will now be explained by diagram and cross referenced in liure and diagram numbers for ease of understanding, Figure 1 Shows the base from a side angle with the arm extending from the base is the arced section holding the arm in place.

2 is the weighted base which the arm and arc sits in for stability.

is fbrnard extending arms only to be used when heavy items may require more leverage for stability.

4 is wheels that sit beside the base and can be flipped into action when required to ease transportation at' the device.

js arms that can extend from the back so extra weight can be used ii' required, by placing it on the arms sh..
