Abstract

A stile 2 tilts from a first position, Figure 1, to a second position, Figure 2, about a fixed pivot at foot level. A lever 1 is used to tilt the gate from the first and second positions.

Description

<p>AUTOMATIC STILE</p>
<p>The automatic stile is designed to allow easy access for the walker but exclude cycles, motorcycles and livestock.</p>
<p>To use the stile, lift the handle 1 and push the centre post to one side whilst stepping through. On release the post 2 falls back to a central, locked position under its own weight.</p>
<p>Figure 1 shows the stile in the closed position.</p>
<p>Figure 2 shows the stile in the open position.</p>

  1. <p>CLAIMS</p>
    <p>The stile is safe and suitable for walkers of all ages as it does not involve any climbing.</p>
