Abstract
A wheel attachment system, for attaching wheels 4 to products such as stackable plastics bins 5, comprises fixing plates 1 with elliptical holes, an adhesive pad 2 and an axle 3. The plates are attached to the product with the adhesive pads and the axle is passed through the holes and retained by a push on wheel 4. The elliptical holes allow the axle to tilt.
Description

Product Name Ezi-Wheels

Product Written Description.

This Ezi-Wheel device is designed to overcome the difficulties encountered when moving boxes or similar type loads.

There are many devices available on the existing commercial market to move loads, such as pallet trucks, and sack trucks etc, however these are specifically designed to move items which are moved infrequently.

The Ezi-Wheel device is specifically designed to be easily attached to items which are moved frequently but do not lend themselves to being manufactured with wheels.

The product is designed to be simple to attach and requires no hand or power tools, the wheels and axel can be easily removed which will allow the parent item to once again be stacked. (Parent item in the example is a stackable plastic box) The bracket(s) incorporate an elliptical hole through which the axel passes; the bracket is then adhered to the parent item. The use of the elliptical hole allows the bracket significant "free" movement ensuring it can tip to match the same angle as the parent item, this stops the bracket becoming unstuck or the parent item becoming deformed from the bracket pressure.

The wheels are a proprietary standard push on / off type and readily availably on the open commercial market. These can be removed from the axel, the axel slid from the underside of the parent item and the parent item can again be stacked.

This invention will now be described by way of the example with references to the accompanying drawing(s): 1. Fig I (Plate) shows the two fixing plates which attach to the Parent item, which is a plastic bin in the example. The plate(s) have an elliptical hole for the axels to pass through thus catering for the angular differences between the axel and the parent item fixing surface.

2. Fig 2 (Adhesive Pad) shows the two adhesive pads which are double sided adhesive with one face adhered to the fixing plate and one side to the parent item (Plastic bin) 3. Fig 3 (Axel) shows the axel onto which the parent item sits. This axel passes through the elliptical hole(s) in the fixing plate(s) and attaches to he wheels.

4. Fig 4 (Wheels) shows the wheels to be used, these may be larger or smaller depending upon the application and are a standard commercial item. These wheels are "push on, push off' type to facilitate removal.

5. Fig 5 (Parent item) shows a plastic bin to which the Ezi Wheel system is attached.

6. Fig 6 (Pull Hook) shows a basic pull hook which attaches to the Parent item to ease the movement of the parent item.

7. Fig 7 (Spacer) shows plastic spacers to equalise the wheel position n relation to the parent item

I

Claims (1)
-
1. An attachment system utilising a multi angle, self adhesive, positional plate for attaching removable wheels to items which need to be moved occasionally or frequently without the needs for lifting the items completely off the floor.

2. An attachment system according to claim I where the method of attachment to the Parent item is primarily by double sided adhesive tape.

3. An attachment system according to claim I incorporating an elliptical hole for multi angle positioning to the parent item. The axel passes through the elliptical hole which allows the bracket to tilt in relation to the axel thus allowing a matching angular fit to the parent item.

4. An attachment system utilising removable wheels and axels which can be removed from the assembly enabling the parent item to be stacked (Applicable only if the parent item is stackable in the first instance by design)
