Abstract

In a refuse bin assembly comprising one or two bins on a base, the or each bin has an automatic bag sealer which can be actuated by use of a control panel. A second bin can allow segregation of items for recycling. Any suitable method of sealing the filled bags may be used. There may be a mechanical or automated deodoriser, which may be actuated from the control panel. The panel may also display information.

THE DESCRIPTION Semi - Automated Refuse Bin
The invention relates to a refuse bin automatically seals refuse bags when instructed by way of a control panel.
Refuse bins are a common domestic item and individuals physically remove refuse bags, seal them and dispose of them. They may also have two separate bins, one for recyclable items and one for normal refuse. This unit aims to provide the option of a dual unit holding two bins, one for example recyclable items and one for normal refuse items.
The object of this unit is to provide a compact semi-automated refuse bin.
This invention provides a single or dual refuse bin. See diagram 1 and 4.
The bin(s) fit into a single base platform. See diagram 2.
Each of the bin(s) has its own deodorizing canister. See diagram 5. Each of the bin(s) has its own mechanical, thermal or similar system for sealing bags.
The unit has an optional control panel which displays information and accepts instructions. See diagram 3.
Preferably the unit is made of metal or plastic or a combination of these or any similar material.
The unit may be of any geometrical shape or design.
A detailed description follows:
A refuse bin or bins of any shape or design fit into a single base. A control panel allows the user to instruct the bin bag(s) to be automatically sealed.
The bag(s) is automatically sealed using a compressor and sealant, heat or any other sealing method.
An optional control panel allows the user to instruct the automatic release of a deodorizer from the deodorising canister(s).

Claims (8)

1. One or two refuse bins on a base with automatic bag sealer and control panel.
2. A unit as claimed in 1 where the base unit may hold two bins.
3. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim where the bag is resealed by use of sealant, compressor, mechanical methods, thermal methods or a combination of methods.
4. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that uses an optional control panel for instruction or communication.
5. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that uses an automated or mechanical deodorizer.
6. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that is made of metal, plastic, a combination of these or similar material.
7. A unit as claimed in any preceding claim that is of any geometrical shape or design.
8. A unit substantially as herein described above.
