Abstract

A retractable lock device for securing a bicycle against theft has a retracting mechanism 3 and up to three metres of cable 5 concealed within a bicycle drinks bottle. The cable can be pulled out of the bottle and the bicycle secured by inserting a male lock device 4 provided at the end of the cable into a key-operated or combination lock mechanism 6 provided on the body of the bottle. A separate compartment 1 for storing tools and accessories may be provided within the interior of the bottle. The two parts of the bottle containing the lock mechanism and the storage compartment respectively may be detachable from each other by means of a threaded collar 2.

Description

1 2431386 Bicycle Lock This invention relates to a device for securing a
bicycle from theft.
Most bicycle locks work by effectively securing the bike to a fixed object.
Generaly bike locks come in three differant forms, chain and padlock, U shaped and Standerd Cable. The problem with these locks is that they all suffer the same disadvantages, these are thee inconvenience of storage and carrying and thee limitations of what you can anchor the bike to as well as thee over all look of the bike.
The lock overcomes all these problems by being a retractable lock concealed in a drinks bottle. This gets round the problem of carring and storage while maintaining good overall apperance of your bike.
The retractable mechanisum and thee instant assibility makes the lock more conveniant to use than any other bike lock. The length of cable 3 metres approx enables it to be secured in many diffrant ways. Its other advantage is the extra storage space at the base for tools and accessorixe.

Page 3 shows how the lock will be attached to the bike frame.
Almost every bike has thee facillity to attach a drinks bottle to it.
