Abstract

A roulette game 1 or similar includes an additional gaming feature comprising a wheel of fortune 2, dice or other mechanism, event or game to provide the user with an extra chance of winning a prize. Preferably the extra game is activated when the roulette ball lands on zero, and gives the player a chance to recoup the amount that would be otherwise be lost, as well as other prizes. The game may be activated by other criteria, including a number pre-selected by a player.

Description

ROULETTE GAME WITH WHEEL OF FORTUNE
The invention relates to the game of roulette in casinos, landbased, online, on a computer, electronic or in other forms.
The traditional game of roulette has been unchanged for a very long time. An object of this invention is to add interest to the game by modifying it to incorporate extra features.
This invention provides new features to the traditional game of roulette by adding a new game to work in tandem with the roulette. This game or event is invoked at times, allowing the player a chance to win an extra prize or gain some advantage.
The extra game can be invoked when the roulette wheel outcome is the number zero.
The extra game can be a wheel of fortune, where some of the outcomes represent prizes.
For the case where the extra game is invoked by the roulette outcome of zero, some of the outcomes of the wheel of fortune can result in the player winning a multiple of his total wagers at the roulette table for the roulette spin where the oucome was zero, as opposed to losing the wagers as would normally be the case.
The extra game does not have to be a wheel of fortune, it can be a roll of dices etc. The criteria for invoking the extra game do not have to be the roulette ball landing on zero, it can be something else, such as a lucky number or two consequtive numbers.
The prizes do not have to be related to the stakes at the table, they can be anything else, like cash prizes or shopping vouchers.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing, FIGURE 1, which shows an implementation of the invention with a roulette wheel incorporating a wheel of fortune.
As shown in figure 1, the game comprises a regular roulette game 1 and a wheel of fortune 2. This is an example of an online implicatation of the invention. The wheel of of fortune need not be visible except when invoked.
When the outcome of a spin of the roulette wheel is zero, the wheel of fortune is invoked and spins, generating an outcome. Some of the outcomes of the wheel of fortune will give the player a multiple of his total stakes at the roulette table, some outcomes will result in a traditional processing of the number zero, meaning that all bets not specifically on the number zero will have be lost, some outcomes will yield vouchers to be spent on sports betting, shopping etc.

Claims (14)

1. A gaming device, in any physical, electronic or other form, including a computer program portraying a gaming device, incorporating a roulette wheel or something akin to a roulette wheel, where one specific outcome, or several outcomes, triggers one or more mechanisms, events or games that are not part of the traditional roulette game and that produce one or more of several different outcomes, one or some of which will have the player winning a prize or gaining some advantage.
2. A device as claimed in Claim 1 where the triggered event or events is one or more spins of one or more fortune wheels or similar or one or more rolls of one dice or one or mor sets of dice.
3. A device as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 where the triggered event or events by chance, or seemingly by chance, each produces one outcome out of several, such as by roll of dice or dices or spinning a of wheel of fortune, or another method.
4. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the outcome of the triggered events can be, or can seem to be, affected by the player by means of letting the player influence the triggered event in any way.
5. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the outcome of the triggered events can be, or can seem to be, affected by the player by means of letting the player roll the dice(s) or spin the wheel(s) of fortune or letting the player affect the speed of the wheel(s) of fortune.
6. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the described event is triggered when the roulette ball lands on the number zero.
7. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where one or more of the possible prizes is related to the amount wagered by the player on the particular roulette wheel spin where the outcome triggered the described event.
8. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where one or more of the possible prizes is related to the amount wagered by the player previously on roulette andlor other games.
9. A gaming device as claimed in any preceding claim, where the rules of what will trigger the event are made know to the player beforehand.
10. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the trigger for the event is ramdom, or seemingly random, or where the event is triggered at every spin of the roulette wheel, or where the event is triggered at every spin of the roulette wheel, or triggered every 2nd or 3rd spin of the roulette wheel or in any other sequence.
11. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the roulette wheel outcome of the ball landing on one or more previously selected number triggers the described event.
12. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the described event is triggered by the roulette ball landing on one particular number two or more times in a row.
13. A device as claimed in any preceeding claim where the roulette wheel outcome of the ball landing on zero triggers the described event.
14. A device substantially as herein described.
