Abstract

The razor comprises a light emitting diode (LED) 3, a handle 1, a razor head 2 and a power component 4. The LED 3 is mounted in the handle 1 or head 2. The LED 3 illuminates the surface 5 to be shaved. The LED 3 is powered by a battery or capacitor located 4 within the handle 1. An array of light emitting diodes can be used. The handle 1 may have a forked connection with the head 2.

Description

Razor 2430906
Background
This invention relates to difficulties experienced while shaving in an area of poor light.
While shaving in poor light, or if the light is coming from an inappropriate angle, it is sometimes awkward to see if a clean all over shave has resulted. This can lead to parts of the shaven area being missed.
Statement of Invention
To overcome this, the present invention mounts a light emitting diode (LED) into the handle or head of the razor which illuminates the immediate area which is to be shaved. The LED is powered by a battery or capacitor located within the handle of the razor.
Advantages The LED enhanced razor will ensure a clean all over shave in any light conditions.
This can be from a poorly lit bathroom, a bathroom without a mirror light, or even an offset mirror light where the illumination is to one side of the face. Sometimes while shaving the face, the shaded area is harder to see due to the dazzling effect of an inappropriate light. The LED Razor would help to eliminate this problem. This invention would also be an excellent accompaniment for camping trips or holidays where lighting may be inadequate or unknown. The invention uses LED's as they use small amounts of energy, are durable and long lasting.
Detailed Description
In figure one, the razor handle(1) or razor head (2) will house a Light Emitting Diode (LED) or group of LEDs (3) which will be used to illuminate (5) the shaving area.
The handle of the razor will also house the power component (4), which can comprise of a battery, a capacitor or other means of powering the LED. 2.
