Abstract

Water soluble liquid bait capsules 6, containing oil based bait enhancers, may be included with loose bait 4 in a water soluble mesh bag 5. The bag, made from P.V.A. (polyvinyl alcohol), is attached to the hook 3 with the hook bait 2, all attached to the end of the fishing line 1. When the tackle is cast into the water, the mesh bag slowly dissolves releasing the loose bait in the vicinity of the hook bait. The liquid bait capsules also start to dissolve releasing the liquid fish attractant, ensuring minimum mess and wastage for the angler.

Description

1 2429619 Title Fish attracting balls
Background
This invention is the means to solving a common problem encountered in the sport of fishing.
In fishing there are many ways to present fishing baits. To increase the chances of attracting fish, it is possible to use liquid bait enhancers which are oil based and only available in bottled liquid form.
In order to dispense the liquid bait enhancer in the required area (i.e. in the water, around the hook bait) it is currently necessary to use the following method: 1. Fill a P.V.A. bag with free offerings' (i.e. loose bait) 2. Pour the liquid bait enhancer over the P.V.A. bag, soaking the free offerings 3. The P.V.A. bag is then attached to the hook, with the bait and cast into the lake, pond or river.
The flavour enhancers are oil based so they do not melt the P.V.A bags. When the bag sinks to the bottom with your hook bait it slowly dissolves (speed dependant on the water temperature).
When the P.V.A bag has dissolved it leaves the free offerings and some of the liquid bait enhancer around your hook bait to attract the fish in to the area.
The problem is that this method is very messy, with a lot of wastage. Both when you pour the liquid bait enhancer over the P.V.A. bag (as it seeps through the contents) and also when you cast the bait, often spraying the liquid bait enhancer everywhere in the process. Also, as the bait and bag land on the water surface, much of the liquid bait enhancer is washed off, before it has a chance to reach the desired position, on the bottom of the lake, pond or river.
PVA is an abbreviation for polyvinyl alcohol. This material has excellent resistance to organic solvents (though is somewhat water-soluble) so is widely used in the sport of fishing.
Title: Fish attracting balls
Statement of invention
To overcome this problem, this invention proposes a method of sealing the liquid bait enhancer inside dissolvable balls of approximately 15-20mm diameter, which are then placed inside the P.V.A. bags with the free offerings. These balls will then only dissolve once they are in the water in the desired position, releasing the liquid bait enhancer in the correct area.
Title: Fish attracting balls Advantages This invention would mean there would be no wastage of liquid bait enhancer, no messy application and no spray as the bait is cast into the lake, pond or river.

Introduction to drawings
An example of this invention will now be described by referring to the accompanying drawings: Figure 1 shows the common current method used and describes the problems involved.
A P.V.A. mesh bag (5) is filled with free offerings' (4) and attached to the hook (3), which is on the end of the fishing line (1), with the hook bait (2). The liquid bait enhancer (6) is then poured over the P.V.A. bag (5) causing wastage (7) of the liquid bait enhancer (6) and leaving mess on the ground (7).
Figure 2 shows an example of the invention and describes how the problem is solved.
A P.V.A. mesh bag (5) is filled with free offerings' (4) and dissolving bait enhancing balls (6). The bag is then attached to the hook (3) which is on the end of the fishing line (1), with the hook bait (2).
Title: Fish attracting balls
Detailed description
This invention wiil be manufactured using dissolvable balls (much like bath oil balls), which the manufacturer will then fill with various liquid bait enhancers.
