Abstract

The system has been designed to create and read electoral voting cards, enabling automatic printing of cards and automated reading of voter's selection on the card through an optical reader. The idea is to speed up considerably the process of counting electoral votes, to improve security through bar-coding and improve quality of counting. The system and hardware is fully transportable to locations and does not require a fixed workstation.

Description

AUTO VOTE
HcctrQn içVotmgCaJYSfl !cciti2fl TI Vo1ing Card (see l'xhihit I) Ihe card is made oi normaf cardboard. I he system can gcncrute otCr s names, candidate names, date and place of election. authority S name, details o the election from its database on to the card. All this variable date can he changed through the software and any additional data required can also he generated.
The card is marked by the voter placing a line through a spot against their chosen candidate. The software is then enabled inconjunCtiOn with the reader and the card is passed through the reader (see Fxhihit 2). If there is an error reading the card, information is displayed on a screen allowing the user to correct or relect. The software reads both the mark made by the voter and the bar code information to yen fy validity.
