Abstract

A three dimensional computer display is formed by Lue's Method of generating 3D images. It is a flat screen display generating a 3D image of virtual objects in the computer memory.

Description

DESCRIPTION
This is a three dimensional computer display. It consists of a flat screen to generate a 3D image of virtual objects in the computer memory. Each dot is placed on the screen by a computer algorythm linked as the the output device to the application that generates the virtual object in the 3D virtual space.
The programs are complex and need to be written. The lenticular array is a simple plastic sheet with small lenses arranged in regular array. It is bonded to a high resolution TFT display.
The lenticular array was origina]ly suggested by Lue as a way of generating 3D images. There is a simple geometrical way of placing the dots of coloured lights on the screen as they are mathematically related to the virtual image of the virtual object. The virtual object may be behind or in front of the screen.
