Abstract

A handsfree kit/headset capable of encrypting/decrypting speech data which it sends/receives from mobile device. This means that encryption software does not need to be built into mobile device, saving on processing power. This allows a mobile device to communicate securely with a second mobile device. The headset may be a Bluetooth wireless type, part of a vehicle hands free kit or as an additional attachment to a mobile device. The encryption algorithm may use Symmetric or Asymmetric keys.

Description

1 2428352 Mobile Communication Protection System This invention relates to
a Mobile Communication Protection System.
The mobile handsets have large number of applications running on them taking most of the processing power. As Data/Voice Encryption/Decryption is very expensive in processing power, it is not usually implemented. This leaves the mobile communication vulnerable, and may be picked up by a third party.
To overcome this, the present invention proposes to add additional hardware and software external to the mobile handset.
The Mobile Communication Protection System can be implemented in the following ways: * Part of Bluctooth headset.
* Part of Car hands free kit.
* Additional attachment to the mobile connector, * (Additional Encryption/Decryption algorithm within the mobile handset) The advantage of this invention is that it does not add to the cost to the existing mobile handset, as Mobile Communication Protection System will be acquired on per need basis.
The Mobile Communication System consists of Signal processing hardware and software. The digital data can be encrypted using Block or Stream encryption algorithm and sent to mobile handset using Bluetooth or Connector interlice.
The Encrypted data received from mobile handset is decrypted by inverse process of Encryption and suitably conditioned and passed to headset or a speaker. The method of sending and receiving encrypted data to and from mobile is given in Figure 1, 2 and 3.
All of the system control, Encryption /Decryption algorithms and Bluetooth stack can be implemented in the Mobile Communication Protection System processor hardware.
A typical Encryption/Decryption algorithm may use Symmetric or Asymmetric keys.

Claims (4)

  1. Claims 1. The Mobile Communication Protection System is additional
    Hardware and Software, which provide protection from third party listening to the private conversation between two parties.
  2. 2. The secure communication channel is provided by the encryption and decryption of voice or data communication.
  3. 3. The raw processing power (not usually available in the Mobile handset) is provided by the external hardware.
  4. 4. There are three ways to provide secure channel communication as given in Bluetooth headset (Figure. 1), Car Hands free kit (figure.2) and via Mobile Handset Connecter (flgure.3).
