A dog harness 1 comprising a neck strap 10 and a barrel strap 20 which are connected by a chest strap 30 and a spine strap 40. The harness supports a number of attachments rings including one 41 at the junction of the spine and the barrel straps, and another 13 adjacent to the connection between the chest strap and the neck strap. The harness is intended to be used with a double ended lead which may be secured to two attachment rings providing two points of contact to control the dog. Other rings 23A and 23B for attachment of the lead are provided either side of the animal on the barrel strap, while extra rings 42 and 43 are secured along the spine strap. Neck, barrel and chest straps are adjustable in length to allow the harness to be fitted to different size dogs. For ease of fitting the harness is provided with releasable catches 22A and 22B either side of the spine trap.

Preferably a releasable catch is provided on the barrel strap either side of' spine strap to assist fitting of the harness.
ihe invention also extends to the above harness in combination with a lead ith a ring attachment device at either end.
An embodiment of' the invention will now he described with reference to the accompanying drawing showing a perspective view ol'a harness fitted to a dog shown in outline.
Relerring to the drawing there is shown a harness I I arness 1 has a neck strap 10 to go around the neck oI'a dog. a barrel strap 20 to go around the chest ofa dog. a chest strap 30 to link the neck and barrel straps along the middle of the chest of the dog between the two front legs. and a spine strap 40 to link the neck and barrel straps along the spine of' the dog.
A first attachment ring 41. D-shaped", is provided at one rear end oithe spine strap adjacent the connection between the spine strap 40 and barrel strap 20. j Neck strap 10 has two strap portions I I A, 11 [3. One end of' both strap portions I IA. 1113 extend from a connector ring I 2 and the other ends connect to a second attachment ring 13 (rrning a connection between the chest strap 30 and neck strap 10. Straps I IA. I I B have length adjustment 4 buckles 14A,1413.
Barrel strap 2() has two strap portions 2 I A.2 1 13. Strap portions 2 I A.2 113 have releasable catches 22A,2213 provided on the barrel strap 20 either side of' spine strap 40 to assist fitting olthe harness to a dog. F'hird and furth attachment rings 23A.2313 are provided on the barrel strap spaced either side from the first attachment ring 41 to each lie, in use, adjacent the side oithe chest of a dog.
