Abstract
A device to pick up canine faeces comprises two telescopic tubes 1A, 1B, where the inner telescopic tube 1B has claws 2 attached to the end of the tube. The device may be used with a disposable bag or membrane 7, which may be held within the device by the claws in preparation for deployment. To deploy the claws 2, the inner telescopic tube 1B is pushed downwards releasing the claws from the outer telescopic tube 1A, the user may then fully extend the bag 7 over the end of the device, and a sliding ring (4A, Fig 3), on the outer telescopic tube may hold the bag securely. To pick up the faeces, the claws are placed over the faeces and the inner telescopic tube drawn upwards, until the faeces is enclosed within the bag, the user may then release the bag from the claws for disposal. The device may be in the form of an extendable walking stick (Fig 4), where a further telescopic tube may be incorporated inside the inner telescopic tube (1C, Fig 4) of the device, which may be locked in an extended position. Preferably the device has a hinged ferrule foot 3 that slides along the outer tube 1A to allow the claws to be deployed from the device. The inner telescopic tube 1B may have a palm knob 5 and an optional handle 6 may be attached to the inner tube 1B. The device may have an adjustable wrist loop or waist belt clip 9 and/or a night-light.
Description
1 2425934 Canine Faeces Clean up Claw, Multi Item Pick-up Adjustable in
length Walking Stick 5. (This invention) Discloses canine faeces clean up claw multi object pick-up adjustable in length walking stick in which the apparatus is disguised and recognisable as a standard walking stick when used in full length. Can be used to pick up and dispose of dog faeces or object items in that social environments can not be allowed to be fouled.
This has a number of advantages of known methods of faeces removal is that a disposable bag or membrane can be used and stored within the apparatus.
10. The apparatus can also be used without the use of a disposable bag or membrane for the purpose of picking up object items and placement of object when bodily bending down is restricted or for hygiene handling. A shorter version of the walking stick can be carried attached to users waistband by means of a standard clip.
15. Research has shown that a high percentage of dog person walkers do not clean up and remove the deposited faeces for a number of reasons from embarrassment or hygiene womes to incapacity in bending down. The aim of the present invention is to overcome these problems of which this invention is capable of.
20. The present invention provides walking aid. Along with means to clip on waistband if shorter version is used together with canine faeces pick up and disposer comprising of apparatus for picking up object items. The apparatus providing means for adequately achieving this when activated.
This invention will now be exemplified with references to the accompanying drawings in which, Figure iTs a general arrangement of canine faeces clean up claw, multi object pick-up walking stick illustrating apparatus with detachable bag or membrane in accordance with the invention in a none operational mode.
Figure 2 Illustrates the apparatus in an exposed operational mode.
Figure 3 Illustrates the apparatus from a side elevation exposing the grab claws together with illuminated battery powered night-light.
With detachable optional handle.
FjgucjlIustrates the apparatus exposing the telescopic movement.
Together with optional tube locking device.
Figure 5 Illustrates the apparatus as a shorter version for the purpose of carrying on waist, by means of clip.
5. Referring to fig. 1. The apparatus comprises of interconnecting interlocking tubes lB of which one or more internal telescopic tubes installed within the body of the external housing. Tube IA can be used to create the required overall operating length of the apparatus. Should more than one internal telescopic tube be used these would require a locking device Fig 4 (1) to work as one in order to expose grab claws 2when activated, in this instance one internal tube is illustrated. lB (Fig 1) This structure could be made of any suitable material of varying lengths and dimensions in this instance 1 A is approximately 60cm in length 28mm in circumference with lB of a required length to create overall length of a standard walking stick. 113 is used to expose grab claws 2 when pushed in a down wards motion.
10. Grab claws 2 can be made of any suitable material of varying lengths and dimensions to suit the application in this instance constructed of plastic coated steel, these are secured by mechanical or adhesive means to the base of lB. Two or more grab claws can be used in this instance, 5 on each side of 2 of a 3mm diameter are indicated 10 in all. Fig 2 (2) 15. Sliding hinged Ferrel foot 3 (Fig I) can be made of any suitable material of varying lengths and dimensions. 3A an external sliding tube sleeve having rubber foot 3 with hinged base opening 2k by pushing down on 5 hinged base 2A (Fig 2) is activated by contact with the base of 2. Exposing the opening within 1A, 3A being retained on 1A of the apparatus by activating 2A this allows the apparatus readiness for use.
20. Connecting palm knob 5 (Fig 1) is secured to the top of lB by mechanical or adhesive means. Can be of varying shape's and dimensions. Can have a decorative aspect in this instance, a plain round knob is shown. Wrist loop 4 can be made of any suitable material to suit the application. Optional detachable hand handle 6 can be constructed of any suitable material of varying lengths and attached to the outer of lB by means of mechanical ring screw clip 8. Can be higher or lowered for varying users heights.
5. Detachable disposable bag or membrane 7 (Fig 2) can be made of any suitable material to suit the application. Can be of degradable or nondegradable material.
10. [Referring to fig.4. Optional locking device 1 shows a standard known mechanisms by turning palm knob 5 left or right. This locks tubes lB IC together to move as one. This mechanism can be used to reduce the overall length of apparatus when not in use in this instance only one tube is used (Fig 1) lB and no locking mechanism is required.
15. Optional illuminated night- light 5A(Fig 3) comprises of torch cell battery embodied within the structure of lB together with 50 on off switching mechanism. Continuity plastic sleeved electrical wire SC together with illumination filament bulb SD.
Nightlight can be constructed of any suitable components to suit application 20. In use the apparatus as shown in (fig.2) for faeces removal requires bag or membrane 7 to be pre selected, a conventional plastic bag will suit the application. Holding the apparatus upside down place 7 over ferrel foot 3A, draw 3A away from 7 push on 5 to full extent, this will expose grab claw 2 inserting within 7. Physically push bag between claws 2 draw 5 to full extent. Claws 2 will close together grabbing 7 and installing 7 within the body of JA. Slide 3A to replace to base of stick position. Press apparatus down on floor to close hinged ferrel foot 2A.
25. The apparatus is now loaded and ready for use. In use for picking up canine faeces (fig 3) push on 5 this will open 2A exposing 7. Before pushing 2 out to full extent physically fold back 7 over the end of 3A draw ring trap 4A away from 3A insert the edge of 7 between 3A and 4A push 4 A firmly against the edge of 3A trapping 7 ensuring secure holding of 7. Continue pushing on 5 to full extent claws 2 are now installed in open mode within 7 align apparatus in an upright position with claws 2 and 7 over underlying faeces lower apparatus to the ground over faeces. Draw up 5 until both 7 and faeces are secured within the grip of claws 2, pull back on 4A releasing 7 from ring trap. Fold 7 back over 2 pull 7 away from 2 the faeces is now enclosed within 7 ready for disposal. Repeat loading procedure of 7 for next use.
30, Referring to Fig 5 in use the shorter in length version operates with the same attributes for faeces collection, omitting sliding hinged ferrel foot3 (Fig 1) is not required. 3A (Fig 5) being open ended fixed with no sliding movement. The apparatus is provided with waist clip on hook 9 for the purpose of carrying on hip/waist.
