Abstract

A fence post extender comprises a base with two extended portions which can be fitted over existing fence post and nailed or screwed in place. A solid part extends from the base away from the fence post to which it is fitted so that trellis may be attached (figure 1). The extender may be manufactured from wood metal or plastics materials.

Product Fence Post Extender Aim To enable a garden fence trellis to be fitted without first removing old posts and replacing with new longer fence posts.
To enable a garden fence trellis to be fitted using the existing posts.
Method The Fence Post Extenders are designed to enable a person to fit garden fence trellis in an easy time saving and cost effective way. Drawing no.1 The product is installed simply by cutting the existing fence post level to the top of the adjacent fence pane! Fitting the Post Extender over the existing post and secure by inserting a screw or nail. Drawing no.2 The trellis is now installed by placing the trellis onto the sides of the Post Extender until it rests on the existing fence panel The trellis is now screwed or nailed to the Post Extender. Drawing no.4 The Post Extender would ideally be made from timber or plastic material moulding.
The Post Extender would be made from a solid piece of material with the lower section recessed to allow sliding fit over the fence post. Drawing no.5 2. Claim

Claims (4)

1. A fence Post Extender with a solid upper body.
2. A fence Post Extender with a recessed base creating two extended sections, which will overlap the existing post.
3. A fence Post Extender as claimed in any preceding claim, which is made from wood, metal, plastic material or any combination of these materials.
4. A fence Post Extender substantially as described herein and illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
