Abstract

A cable guide or the like comprises a bridge member 'A' having a leg at 'B', 'C' each end, the free ends 'D', 'E' of the legs being shaped such that in use the cable guide is attached to the frame 'F' of a cable reel by a push-fit action. When attached to the frame, the guide member enables the cable 'G' to be wound evenly on the cable reel and prevents the plug 'H' going through to the reel.

particular to a cable clip unit that can be retro fitted to the tubular frame of cable reels so as to prevent the cable from being entangled on winding or unwinding The unit consist of a bridge A with two legs R&C that are formed to incorporate clips D&E that are attached to a tubular frame F by a push to fit action An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawing and by example on ly Fig I Shows the cable clip unit with letters relating to its parts Parts index A Bridge B Leg C. Claims (2)

  1. I
    Claims I. The unit is attached to the cable reel frame F by a push fit action, with the cable G placed between the two A&F.
  2. 2. When the cable G is fully rewound the plug I-I that is attached to the end of the cable G is prevented from going through to the reel I by the bridge A, as the aperture between the frame F and bridge A is smaller than the plug H. 3 The unit enables a cable G to flow freely between the bridge A and the tubular frame F, this also allows the cable G to slide horizontally across, between the two legs B&C and so enabling the cable G to he wound evenly across the frame F, this acts as a guide to enable the cable G to he wound evenly on to the cable reel I (not shown).
    4 The unit prevents the cable G from getting entangled around the frame of the cable reel lby limiting the cable G movement so as to he guided through the unit and then on to the cabre reel I. 5. The unit has been designed to be retro fitted but could in incorporated in new production designs.
