Abstract

A package for storing batteries and dispensing them one at a time comprises an inner box element 2 in which the batteries are stored, the inner element having an opening 1 at one end dimensioned to dispense a single battery, and an outer sleeve element 5. The inner element is arranged to slide telescopically within the outer element to either expose or cover the opening. The inner element may have protruding tabs 3 which cooperate with slots in the outer sleeve to limit the relative movement of the inner and outer elements. The bottom edge of the outer sleeve may be convexly curved to prevent a battery from falling out of the package through the opening.

Description

I
Supacell Dispenser Pack The invention relates to a packaging system for storing and dispensing a multiple number of cylindrical portable power cells (batteries) in various dimensions.
Current packaging methodologies for portable power cells are basic and simple in construction and serve primarily to protect the cells from external or environmental forces that may lead to product damage or deterioration Whilst current methodologies do efficiently display the products within, consumer convenience is secondary in the design of many current packaging solutions, with little provision for effectively aiding consumers in the storage of the cells once the packaging is opened As the number of cells sold collectively as one unit (or mutli-packs) increase, so does the necessity for more consumer friendly, easily re- sealable packaging that not only stores cells but also allows easy-access.
The object of this invention is to create a packaging system that effectively stores and dispenses portable power cells (batteries) of various dimensions. The system incorporates a facility for dispensing the cells in a manner that allows for easy access to the product whilst also increasing consumer convenience by dispensing cells in a singular fashion. Storing the cells in a re-sealable packaging system maintains the product in optimum condition and maintains maximum product lifespan. The packaging system also incorporates a built-in device that allows the system to be hanged at point of sale The packaging system comprises of two separate parts: an outer (re-positionable) component that forms the protective cover for the inner component, and an inner component that contains the portable power cells (batteries) forming the dispenser and protecting from them any external or environmental damage. Both parts join to form the Supacell Dispenser Pack.
The Supacell Dispenser Pack would be primarily made from a combination of paper and cardboard materials, but could alternatively be made from plastics or metal materials.
A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which FIGURE 1 Shows a threedimensional view of the inner component.
FIGURE 2 Shows a three-dimensional view of the complete packaging system in a closed position FIGURE 3. Shows a three-dimensional view of the complete packaging system in an open position.
As shown in Figure 1, the inner component of the Supacell Dispenser Pack comprises of a main body (2), an opening (1), four tabs and a hanging device. The main body (2) contains/stores the cells and are removed through the opening (1) located on the front face of the inner component. The four tabs (3) form one half of the main device for opening and closing the packaging system, when coupled with the outer component.
Figure 2 shows the both the inner (2) and outer (5) components joined together to form the complete packaging system. The outer (5) utilises the four small tabs (3) located on the inner component, combined with four slots located on the outer, to slide upwards to reveal the opening (1), which then allows a single cell to be removed As shown in Figure 3, the outer component (5) slides upward to reveal the opening located on the front face of the inner component. The curvature on the bottom of the front face of the outer component (5) stops the cell from falling out.
