Abstract

A nozzle for the extrusion of viscous materials, such as a sealant, includes an angled spout B, two depth stops A and screw or clip fastening means for attachment to a container such as a sealant cartridge. The spout has a reverse taper interior and may be produced in various shapes offering alternative finishes.

Description

Disposable nozzle Sealants and adhesives are normally exuded from a nozzle
that accompanies the container that the sealant adhesive or paste is packaged in. These nozzles normally dispense the product from the end of the nozzle and do not tature any way of stahilising the sealants output and eventual shape of the set sealant l'his invention is a disposable nozzle for the extrusion of various sorts of contents such as sealants and adhesives, featuring an angled delivery spout to allow product delivery from the side not the end of the nozzle (13 in figure I) The nozzle herein described features a pair of depth stops, (A in figure 1) that are designed to he rested on the outer edge of the work piece and are then used as an outer guide to the nozzles angled outlet. This means that an operative can track in a linear movement the length of the work piece and deposit the sealant in a unifbrm linear layer, in direct relation to the work pieces outer face.
The depth stops or guides (A in figure 1) are on both sides of the nozzle allowing for both left-handed and right-handed application.
l'hc depth stops (A in figure I) arc trimable to allow the depth or the distance of the edge of the sealant from the liice edge to be adjusted and regulated.
The Nozzle has an Angled delivery head (B in figure 1 and Figure 2) this is to allow the sealant to exude from the side not the end of the disposable nozzle, the interior is pre shaped to the desired sealant shape that an operator specifies.
The end of the nozzle can also feature as an alternative a Shaped Reverse tapered interior sur1ce (C in figure 1) that can be produced in a various selection of square rectangular triangular or semi circular ( C in l'igure 2) shapes, this allows the user to pre select his desired finished sealant adhesive shape i.e., semicircular or square shaped and then cut the nozzle to his desired size.
Figure 1 shows all the specified fCatures of the nozzle its outlet at the side instead of the end, the twin depth stops/guides and a oblong cut reverse tapered interior to create a finished bead of sealant that would be lOmm wide x I.5mm deep, its length only dependant on the length of time an operator exudes the contents thru the disposable nozzle.
Figure 2 has all the above fCatures hut does not fCature a reverse tapered nozzle, hut ICatures a semi circular unifi.rm shape that runs the length of the nozzle outlet, to produce a semi circular, domed shape of sealant 10mm wide x l.Smm at its height, ICathering down to nothing at the sides.
All and any interior shape could he accommodated at the delivery end of the nozzle, hut the main feature would always he a disposable nozzle, with guide! depth stops and an outlet at the side of the nozzle.

Claims (7)

  1. Claims I An adjustable disposable guide nozzle for the extrusion of
various sorts of viscous pastes, sealants and adhesives dc, br the attachment to any form of cartridge or suitable container, via screw thread or clip with an angled delivery spout end with a shaped reverse taper interior, and twin depth stops.
  2. 2 An adjustable disposable guide nozzle according to claim I with an angled delivery spout of any angle to allow the contents to he exuded from the side not the end of the nozzle.
  3. 3 An adjustable disposable guide nozzle according to claim I Incorporating twin guides! depth stops designed to fOllow the surface edge and allow fOr various uniform placements ol sealants etc. along any linear surface
  4. 4 An adjustable disposable guide nozzle according to claim 1, where the guides/depth stops are 2 or more to eliminate rocking of the nozzle spout outlet, to allow accurate hand or machine delivery of the product along a linear surface.
  5. An adjustable disposable guide nozzle according to claim I, made f'rom a polypropylene" or similar plastic substance to allow fOr trimming down to accommodate diffirent linear applications and needed spacing.
  6. 6 An adjustable disposable guide nozzle according to claim 1 including an angled spout nozzle preformed to accommodate any needed inside or outside shape, including square, rectangular or semi circular bead efThcts.
  7. 7 An adjustable disposable guide nozzle according to claim I including a spout nozzle with the additional feature of a reverse tapered" insert production, which means that the outside of the very end of the nozzle outlet and the inside of the very end of the nozzle is wider than the rest of the inside to allow the designing of difThring shapes and sizes fOr the outlet end of the nozzle, for example: square, rectangular or semi circular end cuts, ol various sizes.
