Abstract

A fishing float, which allows a hook and bait to be suspended on or above the surface of the water, comprises a tube F with a sliding float E and a weighted float GH. The hook and bait D is fixed to the line R which is threaded through the float tube and back to the rod and reel. The position of the sliding float may be adjusted so that the counter balanced weighted float allows for the correct presentation of the hook and bait at the surface. This arrangement prevents any loose line trailing on the surface near the vicinity of the bait, causing alarm to the fish.

Description

I
fISHING FLOAT
PESCRIPTION
This invention relates to a fishing float that allows a hook and bait to be Suspended on or above the surface of the water.
Fishing floats, or similar apparatus currently in existence, do not allow a hook and bait to be suspended on, or above the surface of the water.
The advantage of this invention is that there is no line trailing in the close vicinity of the bait, a situation which may alarm the fish.
The float may be made of wood, plastic, metal, or a combination of any of these materials.
The accompanying drawings show: Fig.1 Pagel/4 The complete float in operating mode.
Fig.2 Page 2/4 The complete float in the casting mode.

Claims (2)

  1. FISHING FLOAT
    CLAIM
This is a fishing float consisting of a tube, (F, Page 1/4) which carries the fishing line from the rod to the bait line, (R), via swivel links, (Fig.1, Page 1/4 and Fig.
  2. 2, Page 2/4). A weighted float, (GH), is attached by a swivel pin, (J), at one end of the tube and a sliding float, (E), is fixed to the tube, (F). This sliding float can be moved in either direction along the tube in a manner that allows the opposite end of the tube from the weighted end to be raised and lowered. This enables the bait, (D), to be positioned relative to the surface of the water, (K), as required by the operator.
Figure 2 Page 2/4 shows the float in the casting mode with the float weight (GH), folded up.
